Teaching series "Life After Death" by David Pawson.
Playlist: • Life Afer Death - Davi...
David Pawson (1930 - 2020) is considered to be one of the world’s finest biblical expositors. Translations of David’s teachings continue to grow with extensive projects currently focused in countries including Brazil, Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, China and Indonesia, just to name a few.
David was passionate about teaching the Bible and believed every teacher has a responsibility to expound the truth and expose error. He encourages everyone to read the Bible for themselves, not verse by verse but to read each verse in the context in which they were written. Too many people misquote Bible verses by taking them out of context. David teaches that a ‘text out of context becomes a pretext’ to a whole new and wrong meaning to that for which the verse was written.

Oh, I am simply overwhelmed by David‘s teaching! His explanation and the lovingkindness with which he reaches heart and mind of the listener, is surely a great encouragement, to myself at this crucial time of conscious departure from the body! Thank you so much for posting this wonderful series! „David I’ll see you in the morning“!Bless you all! 💜 🤲

Heaven before the resurrection of the body. Only if one is in Christ

What happens to us during the separation of body and spirit? Hades / Sheol is the realm of departed spirit so. Jesus went there…heaven is the place for after the resurrection when we are rejoined as body and spirit beings! Our future is the kingdom of heaven…Jesus promised “today I can comfort you today we shall be together in “paradise” ie a kings garden Persian word.

Friday afternoon at around 3 pm Jesus died, and He rose from the dead between Saturday evening and Sunday evening (Jews wrote the Bible and they counted the days differently from us). So it's not really three days and three nights later, but it's on the third day nonetheless. Just wanted to make a small correction in what was said at 16:10 .

No correction needed my friend. Matthew 12:40…(Jesus Speaking) “For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.”

The purpose was the prove to them that they wouldn't have chosen Jesus anyway. Their hard heart was the real cause

Jesus was punished for all my sins? We deserve hell in eternity for all the sins we have committed. Jesus was not in hell and wasn't separated from God, since He is God the Son. At most He was crucified and died and descended into Hades. We deserve far worse than that. Hints of purgatory are there in the Book of the Maccabees and in the practices of the early Christians who would offer up prayers for the dead. This is the custom in the Catholic, Orthodox and Coptic Churches which have their roots and traditions going back to the earliest Christians.

Isaiah 53:4-6, "Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all." 1 Peter 2:24, "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed." Yes, Jesus was punished for all our sins. Yes, we deserve hell for all eternity, and that is why the gift of God (eternal life) is a gift that cannot be earned but can only be received by faith. Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

@@edifaudio3062 I see I worded my question wrongly. I meant that Jesus didn't undergo what we deserve. He was punished for and paid for our sins (our redeemer), but He didn't suffer what we were supposed to suffer.

@@SP-ct2rj Yes, He did suffer what we were supposed to suffer, which is death. Again, "the wages of sin is death". This is what the Bible says we deserve because of sin. We were supposed to die, but He took our death and gave us His life. This is the good news of the Gospel.

@@edifaudio3062 He suffered death, you're right, but He didn't suffer hell for eternity. That's all I'm saying. Pawson was such a wonderful teacher, but sometimes he taught things which can't be taken exactly like he says it. I'm hoping to be a voice that reminds people of that.
