3 жыл бұрынAs an MTech student at IIT Bombay, how has your journey been so far? We asked this to the final year MTech students at IIT Bombay. These students were from the departments of Electrical Engineering (EE) and Mechanical Engineering (Mech):
➡ Amit Lohan (EE) - Amit is a final year MTech student in the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Bombay. His MTech specialization is Communication Engineering. In the recent placement season 2020-21, he got placed as a Data Scientist in Micron.
➡ Premkumar Vemula (Mech) - Premkumar is a final year M.Tech student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Bombay. His M.Tech specialization is Manufacturing Engineering. In the recent placement season 2020-21, he got placed as a Computational Data Scientist in ExxonMobil.
➡ Rucha Joshi (EE) - Rucha is a final year M.Tech student in the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Bombay. Her MTech specialization is Communication Engineering. In the recent placement season 2020-21, she got placed as a Firmware Engineer in Apple.
➡ Sourabh Patil (EE) - Sourabh is a final year M.Tech student in the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Bombay. His MTech specialization is Communication Engineering. In the recent placement season 2020-21, he got placed as an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Researcher in Hitachi, Japan.
➡ Sudesh (EE) - Sudesh is a final year M.Tech student in the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Bombay. Her M.Tech specialization is Power Electronics and Power Systems. In the recent placement season 2020-21, she got placed as a Post Graduate Engineer Trainee - Control Systems in Mercedes-Benz Research and Development.
In the first part ( • Thoughts before joinin... ), we got to know their thoughts before joining MTech at IIT Bombay. In the upcoming videos, we will also get to know the companies they have been placed in.

@@yogeshchauhan8406 Hi Yogesh. At IIT Bombay, age doesn't affect your placements. However, a few companies put a cap on the number of years in your academic gap.

@@adiver_ In campus placements, this gap should not affect in the case of most of the companies. However, you should expect a question or two on this gap in your interviews for placements.

According to the data given on placements.iitb.ac.in/placements/2020/Placement_and_Internship_Report_2019-20.pdf, the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering had 75% placements record in 2019-20

Hi Shivam! All the courses at IIT Bombay are highly demanding and rigorous. That's why you should focus only on studies once you join MTech at IIT Bombay.

Hi Dhaval! At IIT Bombay, over the last few years, only one or two students are admitted as RAs in MTech Chemical Engineering. Even though we will try to share their experiences. In case you want to listen to TAs in MTech Chemical Engineering, you might want to listen to Richa (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h9qkfqqXsseUm4U.html) and Aman (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qqxllLZyu9awlqM.html). From the placement perspective, MTech TAs and MTech RAs get to avail of the same opportunities.

Hi Raj! The first batch of MTech in Educational Technology was admitted in 2019. So, they will be graduating this year. As of now, we don't have placement information for that batch. Hi if you are someone who is currently studying at IITs as an MTech student please answer my question. Do class 12th marks matter during placements of MTech in CS department? I have 75% in 12th will that stop me from being eligible for placement in certain companies?

Hi Regal, Your 12th marks should not affect the placements. However, there are a few companies that set the threshold of at least 60% throughout your academic career. Hope it helps.

Hi. During placement, the recruiters would be keen to know about your performance in Masters. So, your backlog in BTech should not affect your placements

@@soldierboy2 I am not sure of the exact percentage of the students who opt for PhD. However, students do join PhD after their MTech. Sometimes, MTech students get the opportunity to get converted into a PhD program in final semester.
