❤ps- hi, its late at night and the sniffles and constant sneezing and general blah is keeping me awake. you are hopefully peacefully sound asleep so you will be rested and energized to rip it up tomorrow, or later today, now. i just watched more vidz and 'leave a message' in particular. what?! dang Lakey, your surf edits in that are insane. so radical and aggressive, and you were such a young little one, destroying those waves with such style and unique ferocity and flair. those grab rail airs were sick AF, especially how the tail would wrap around, and the way you positioned your arms on those, your gouges, and cut backs, as well as those tails slides were amazing. l've seen video, and zero to one hundred, that state that you were the first female to land an air in contest, but your surfing edits in leave a message are off the charts. so very new school, so original, such flair, and its rad because of your feminine traits doing what you do is very ground breaking and original, and every bit as exciting, more actually, in my opinion and has been the case for me for a long time (with the rare exception of my favorite guy surfers that are mixed in there), to watch surf, as the guys. hopefully that makes sense and is the compliment intended. i guess my point is that the era of females surfing as fiercely, aggressively, powerfully, and radically as males has long since arrived, and you are most certainly a prominent figure in that happening. how cool you are :) Caroline is another. actually, all of you are remarkable. lovely lovely steph steph, caroline, coco, carissa, laura e, sally f, you are all the generation that has finally reached the tipping point, and i think that is so cool! :) anyway, ill end here and try to rest, but just wanted to write to say how truly astounding your surfing is in that film (the skating was cool too) and how cool your style is and how it was formed so young. ok, bye for now :)

I’m goofy and especially if it’s not totally hollow , I want to go right . Big bottom turns straight to vertical and then “slam” just like Carolina . My best times was surfing Baja 38 and San Miguel . I felt backhand was an advantage. Love you Lakey !

I'm a goofy foot and would go left. Mostly because the takeoff is easier. But I like backside rights when the wave is peeling fast and I am trimming down the line. My best wave ever was a right that fired as a top speed wave. Many thanks to the surfers who backed off and did not drop in.

IN 1963 we stayed as a motel that was where that little park by the pier is now and there was no harbor at Doheny. Lots of memories of San Clemente. Have a fun and safe trip! Thanks for sharing!

i just recently started pilates for the first time and i love it! i often get lower back pain when weight lifting it really helps with core strength which in turn helps not put as much pressure on the lower back!

Which direction? Most experience I have surfing a proper wave would be Rincon, CA, which is backhand for me. Both directions feel good. Digging in the heels either way properly is fun. Ah, it's cliche' but I'd have to say whichever direction feels most like home; one could surf a perfect wave with rude, inconsiderate people...or a seemingly imperfect wave with kind people. At this point in life, right or left, I prefer whichever direction the good stuff is. PS. I bought a hard drive recently and it was filled with an expandable protective foam ...maybe that could work for surfboard travel? Take care WM
