hey all,
in today's video i just wanted to sit down and chat to you about my experiences as an international student in the US!
i left the UK for harvard when i was 18, and moved to massachusetts where harvard is located. it was a really fun 4 years with a LOT of learning and i wanted to show you what living in the us is like for us international students.
going to an american college or american university is really different to going to school elsewhere so definitely leave questions if you have any!

Such an informative vid! Just completing my transfer application so stressed 🤣 just out of curiosity would £10000 a year be ok for living costs such as flights, food, clothes, travel outside the us? (:

tysm ^-^ that's amazing, congrats! would the 10000 include rent as well? i remember you said you were applying for columbia, and i currently live in nyc where it is located. why don't you shoot me a dm at @danutheonlydanu on ig (if you have ig) and we can go into more detail. nyc is v expensive but depending on whether or not you have your rooming situation covered by the school or not potentially your budget could work :)

flights round trip would be $500ish, so if you go back twice a year that's 1000 weekly grocery could be between $20 - 50 a week depending on your preferences nyc is also a fun city so i'm sure you'd want to have enough cash to enjoy things like shopping, broadway shows, museums etc - try to factor in a monthly budget for entertainment/fun activities clothing - during college i honestly didn't buy a lot of clothes in the US haha i would wait til i went back to the uk bc i couldn't find things i liked here, but again this might depend on you - if you love shopping, nyc is a shopper's paradise, but if not you could set a budget per month or per 3 months :) you'll definitely want to get a nice winter coat, snow boots etc. though which would add some costs
