Just wanted to say - watched you for a long time now and I really respect that you kept mentioning vet nurses, it can be really frustrating for us when our role isn’t acknowledged (which happens far too often). So thank you for drawing attention to the stresses of our job! ❤

I also have low blood pressure and had such a similar experience. I was doing work experience in a vets and I was just helping with a dog, felt so lightheaded I just said “I think I’m going to faint” and just dropped to the floor. It was so embarrassing, I had only been there for like 2 hours 😂

Same I think esme is such an underrated rider and equestrian… She has brought me through bad times in my life: horses death and other personal issues… but she has brought me through everything and thought me so much… She is such a role model to everyone, adults and children

This brought back a lot of memories for me too. I worked as a registered veterinary technician for 15 years. You describe your experience realistically for anyone thinking of entering that field. As for the smell of medicine in poo...I know exactly what you mean. I used to muck out at a Thoroughbred stable and the horses that came from the track had medicine poo smell for at least a week.

If you ever have time, I genuinely recommend volunteering at your local RDA, you'll learn SO much, about people, and even more about horses. I did it in my 30's, and it's one of the BEST equestrian experiences that I have ever had, and I've done quite a lot with horses; but seeing the sheer joy that disabled kids get from horses -- there are absolutely no words that adequately describe that experience. Every one who does it, gets so much out of volunteering. Would recommend to any one and every one that loves horses, such a beautiful and life changing.

@@ThisEsMe it’s amazing, even if you can just help out with one session, every now and then, the experience you’ll gain is ten times worth anything you’ll have done. I did the DoE & trained as an educational psychologist- two years, volunteering a few hours a week has changed my life; the horses, the participants, other volunteers and coaches, truly humbling is one way to describe it. I know in my case, they didn’t know how to get ponies show ready - plaiting a mane, teaching horse care, you’ll meet people from all walks of life too. I will carry that experience with me for the rest of my life - showing kids that suffer from anxiety, the peace that can be felt, simply by sitting in a field of horses. One day, I plan to combine psychology/therapy, with horses; they’re a great teacher. You already do some amazing work for charity - one of our volunteers told me about your channel, remember to do as much horsey stuff for yourself too. You’re extremely talented, grounded, empathic and caring. You should definitely give it a try murrinholi on insta if you or anyone else is interested in learning more. Much ❤️

Hey Esme! I haven’t done the duke of Edinburgh award but the riding school I go to allows people to come and help out! All me and my friends have kinda chosen a pony to look after and now we all ways much them out and groom them which is lovely! We also will lead some younger children on rides and that’s basically my Saturdays! So happy I goes this experience but just reminded me when you were talking about that x ❤
