I am so sorry Heather. You are so right - life changed in a minute for me too on 5th April after 15 1/2 years I was made redundant. I am still picking myself up and it is fab to see you are too. You are an amazing teacher and have really helped me learn to sew and craft again. Keep going if it’s your passion. You certainly have the skill. I am very happy to have found you again. Wishing you all the best heather. Your tutorials were always fantastic (IMO the best ones from the hub) I think the idea of linking to other videos is a fantastic idea too. Will you be writing your instructions down too, as they were really helpful? I would love to see more tutorials similar to the backpack you made for AKAS. I really enjoy making things that are functional and can be used. That was the best tutorial from the kit. Both yourself and Doris were fountains of knowledge so would be great to continue learning from you both if there is opportunity for that too.

I dont use odicoat for water proofing fabric, but ive found a brilliant store that sells waterproof canvas etc. Custom fabrics uk. All the best for the future.

Hello Heather, I first ‘met’ you on AK&S, I have followed you because I love your tutorials, they are very well explained and so easy to follow. I would like more tutorials, especially bag making and pouches. I like crafting, sewing and knitting are my main crafts. I can’t read a pattern in crochet although I can follow a tutorial. So sorry this has happened to you, I've been made redundant 3 times and it's so demoralising! I've subscribed and am following you! I love your tutorials, been subscribing for over 2 years to the sewing boxes but have only made 1 item and partly made another. Suffering with depression after losing my mum suddenly 2.5 years ago and my mojo has completely gone out of the window! Hopefully you can give me the insporation to get back into my knitting, sewing and my learning crochet journey so will also now follow your daughter for tips etc. Wishing you all the best for your future endeavours!

So sorry you were made redundant. Have to say I love your tutorials and you are so easy to follow, and you explain everything. It is always like you're here with me sewing. I will definitely be following your tutorials and definitely be making more of your things. I have a normal sewing machine and an embroidery machine. Would love for you to do a tutorial on a bag with an zip that is just inserted a little bit from the top. If that makes sense. I'd love to see videos for children to teach them new skills, Florence has learnt to knit (as have I ((finally)) so simple starting them off, new stitches etc, plus using fabric to make something, either by hand or on a machine kids love youtube so I'd much prefer her watching a familiar face and learning something. I love your bags. Made loads of them. Always get such lovely compliments on them, so I'd love more bag tutorials. Live sew-a-longs sound good too. I also like the idea of short videos on how to do things like Odicoat or insert bag feet etc. I also love the idea of you selling kits and patterns on your Etsy shop to make the projects in your videos. That would be a big hit for me. I don't have an industrial machine, or an embroidery one, but that's not to say I won't have in the future. Making those videos will probably help grow your audience and help future proof your channel. Your audience will want to improve and grow into their skills, so doing those videos will help to inspire them. Good luck to you! So glad you're continuing to teach!

Hi Heather so lovely to see you here, I was so sad when I heard you were going, your hints and tips and explaining how to do something was always clearly understood. I am just a beginner in sewing but just loved watching you explaining things. I also do knitting but just basic, I would be happy with downloads of patterns and then I just print them off. Sewing wise I would enjoy sew alongs making gifts for family and friends. Learning also about sewing leatherette on bags, and when ready on your etsy shop to buy accessories to make things. Good afternoon Heather, firstly, lovely to join you on your utube channel. I look forward to spending time with you in the future. I also wish you all the best in your new, albeit, unexpected journey. Life certainly keeps us on our toes. It is very difficult for small businesses. On line means shoppers - myself included- go to a number of different shops as opposed to just one local one. I feel for small business owners. With regards tutorials. I love to make gifts for family and work colleagues. Often small type tote bags or cosmetic / wash bags. Various styles of knitting bags would be great as so many people knit and hand made items make such lovely gifts. Anything really that I can enjoy making, giving as a gift. Though not requiring too much cost. I think it is a good idea not to stock or sell fabric as that is so expensive and people can shop for that. However specific smalls packs for eg clasps etc may be a good idea to go with your projects. I am happy and luckily, able to write down the pattern requirements. However, if they were available in your shop I would likely prefer to purchase them. I am glad you do not intend to speed videos up. I do not watch them as it is difficult to see the process. As you say people can speed up themselves if they wish. I have joined you on instagram and on your Etsy shop. Though do not do Facebook or Tic toc. Though it may be another way for you to be seen. So until your next video. Thank you for this one. I have enjoyed your videos with the craft shop and a shame they are reducing as a lovely friendly shop. Embroidery machine please

Lovely to hear and see you. I would like you to carry on teaching/showing in your easy manner it's so reassuring. I have a domestic machine, an embroidery machine and an over locker still in there boxes. If you could show your subscribers how to use faux leather and all other tips etc. Patterns I prefer paper however I have purchased PDF and have them printed off. I really enjoy your tutorials and will be looking foward to your videos etc. The future is a mystery on what it holds for us, hoping this next adventure is exciting for you. I love the idea of referring to another “how to” video for techniques that may be unfamiliar. I only have a domestic machine but perhaps some projects that include appliqué. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all your sew a long tutorials, some of these would be great. Seasonal projects would be good too, particularly Christmas eg decorations, stockings, gift ideas.To be honest, I liked all of the tutorials that you produced for AKAS, they were practical/useful, good for gifting and covered a range of beginner/intermediate/advanced skill levels, so anything similar would be much appreciated.
