Appreciate you being so open big homie. Been watching for about 4 years now I think. I still got that, "I wanna take over the world" mentality. I originally got in to this to do a specific type for a specific niche and I strayed from that right from the get go. Time to rethink some things. Anyways, as always, appreciate you, and #BMX ain't 29in'ers 🤣🤣 Oh, btw, so did the hen share her bread or tell everyone to kick rocks?
@unlimited2379
@unlimited2379 Жыл бұрын
Nothing wrong with still having that mentality... always good to have, but sometimes we believe that this has to be a "this" or "that" situation lol. Nothing is stopping you from doing both. We can create smaller niche brands to try and make quick money that can potentially be used to grow a broader brand that may have slower initial returns. I think the mistake people often make is focusing solely on the broad brand only to spend a lot of money upfront, not making quick returns and potentially sit on dead stock. That then spirals into your psyche and makes you believe that it will never be possible for you because things are not working out. That's the great thing about this field. We can create different pipelines from the core skillset and maximize them while transferring what we make from those niche brands into other projects.
@mariol6095
@mariol6095 Жыл бұрын
@@unlimited2379 when I say "take over the world" I mean it by the fact that I make shirts for any occasion; birthdays, funerals, Disney trips, family reunions, church, sports parents, etc... Same thing as everyone else around here. I do a little here and there. I figured if I offered something for everyone Id always be busy. Hasn't worked out that way. Thanks for the input, appreciate it

And I am very confident the shirts would sell and would consider some kind of deal with someone who would put the design on the shirts. Someone like you that I believe I could trust.
@BigBrandoh
@BigBrandoh 11 ай бұрын
the only way to know if something will sell is to actually do it. save up some money and put your idea out to the market. the market wont lie to you. instead of looking for someone to put your design on a shirt, put it on yourself. if your that confident in your idea, bet on yourself. that way, when you win, you celebrate yourself and your hardwork. get that money homie. stop thinking and start doing.

you cant sell on a large scale if you cant move it on a small scale first. the dream is big but turn that dream into a reality. dont just be a dreamer. be a doer. get out there and get that money. everybody dreams, everybody has million dollar ideas, but not everybody follows thru on those ideas. be the difference and do that shit. nobodys stopping you but yourself.

The world is made up of niches. T-shirt brands are generally successful when they find their niche and cater to it. I have a t-shirt brand that's getting ready to launch in August. This isn't my first rodeo though. I had a fairly successful brand in the Christian space back in 2005.

You'll be amazing at the people who would purchase a brand name Blah Blah Blah because people seem to be wanting things that are different these days. I'm shocked at the things people purchase these days. People are emotional shoppers so if they connect with the phrase blah blah blah, we can sell our stuff Which makes me believe shuuu I can sell my stuff then
@RAZASHARP

Great video! I beg to differ on this one.. ALOT! If all you had to do was make a good design for successful clothing brand ….THEN ALL GRAPHIC ARTISTS WOULD BE RICH!! Come to think of it I don’t know any top designers in streetwear, or luxury, who are famous because of their designs on the apparel alone ! Ralph Lauren/polo, off-white(RIP) to my man, Virgil, supreme, DKNY, Tom Ford..etc on and on and on!! as a matter of fact, those brands don’t even have a graphic logo just their name!! I’ve only been doing apparelfor two years, but I was successful in another niche before this… how do you gonna be successful? Is your MARKETING and BRANDING ? PERIOD!!! Just like you said people don’t really care about your logo….. technically they really don’t give a fuck about a design either! It’s MARKETING 90%. Cheers
@BigBrandoh
@BigBrandoh Жыл бұрын
i gotta disagree. your looking at things from a different perspective. Ralph Lauren is not T shirts, Tom Ford is not T shirts. Supreme was droppin designs before the box logo. Virgil had a name before Off White dropped. i measure success by profit. the faster im profitable the faster im successful. popularity doesnt pay my bills. conversions and transactions do. I've proven a brand name means nothing with LFTOVRZ and The Churro Squad. The designs drove those brands. the name didnt. those names mean nothing. The designs made people buy. the designs is what made those brands. BUT, these are my own personal experiences. There isnt only one way to run a brand or business. this is just the way i found it to work for me. thats the best part about creating content is i get to tell my story and what i do for my businesses. my ups and my downs spoken by me. but to answer your question about graphic designers in streetwear. look at OG Slick and his brands. dope graff artist and graphic designer. crazy successful off of his designs. people know his design before they know the brand name. 🤷🏾‍♂️
@RAZASHARP
@RAZASHARP Жыл бұрын
@@BigBrandoh OK gotcha.. what are the first thing , being successful is subjective.. somebody just starting out making $2000 a month would say he successful🤷🏾‍♂️ so that word really means nothing! Regarding Virgil, he didn’t start off an off-white that’s the point.. his other brains had no logo as well.. it was all marketing and branding! And I don’t even know OG slick … (test at a household brand name, !)so to me that’s not success! You may know him because you’re in that niche. And very few people know supreme by a design … but they do know ..The NAME LOGO)!but exactly like you said there’s more than one way to skin a cat… my point was Design doesn’t really mean anything.. there’s got to be a few thousand brands were just designs… I don’t see any of those at high-end boutiques or stores or in fashion week!! But if you just talking about paying your bills and making quick money than yeah, … i’m building a brand !! Not quick money, so I’m also thinking luxury/streetwear/fashion … so I’m probably way off subject. Cheers
@BigBrandoh
@BigBrandoh Жыл бұрын
thats my point with OG Slick. you dont know his name or his brand but youve seen his designs. hahaa. we're talking about starting out from scratch. not what supreme is today or what off white is today. we're talking about first starting out. when nobody knows who you are and what you do. how do you get somebody to notice you and your brand? if it was just about marketing and branding a logo than more people would have successful brands. theres a reason why not all brands make it. anybody with money has a marketing budget. but not all of those brands make it. Take Nips Marathon Clothing for example. the design that drove the brand was the crenshaw shirt. not the name marathon. get me? design is everything, brand name is secondary. but what your building and working towards is your own personal goals. for me, providing for my family is what i work for. success to me is seeing profits out the gate. $100 in the green is success to me. because everything after that $100 is all money in my account for my family. $1 or a million dollars. doesnt matter. its all profit.
