Consider keeping emergency contact information in your visor. List the obvious contacts- like your spouse, but also list the people you want called for your kids in case the adults are unable to respond, but the children are okay and need comfort. If you are injured you will probably want your husband there with you while your children are the care of the trusted adults you list. This is extra important if grandparents do not live close by.

My car hack: I always remove all of my trash and all things that don’t belong in my car everyday when I come home (I have my kids do the same thing). It literally takes a minute and my car stays clean. I also vacuum and wash my car once a month at a car wash station. I used to have major issues keeping my car clean, but after I made it a habit to take an extra minute to clean it out daily- my life has changed. 🤗 I need to work on an emergency station- although I do have jumper cables, a blanket and flash lights.

The best piece of advice I can give any woman especially one with children. BUY A JUMP PACK! Think about this your in a different part of town or in another town without your husband and you accidentally leave the lights on or your battery is dead because it’s starting to go bad. Did I mention it’s dark and you don’t know anyone there. Do u really want to have to flag down a stranger to jump your car? I personally wouldn’t. My husband bought me a jump pack. It will jump my car 75 times on a single full charge. It will also charge any cellphones or laptops or iPad. Also it has a flash light. Everyone men and women included should have one in their car

Two thumbs up! A jump pack has not only saved me but also my husband! We never have a vehicle without one. And when those little ones turn big that's the first thing you put in the 16 year olds car. Get a jump pack!

Exactly! We’ve actually been able to jump people at church with the pack we have in our car. It’s from Walmart and is called “Justin Case”. Has the cables, light gloves, a flashlight, a rope, and some other things I can’t think of.

I couldn’t agree more. We live about an hour away from my husband’s job, our main grocery store, and church. That often puts me about an hour away from anyone that I would call for help. It also allowed me to go shopping when my daughter was on a heart and apnea monitor and needed an outlet every 30 minutes. I’m pretty sure jump packs are one of my favorite inventions.

One time I had a period problem in the middle of nowhere. Thank goodness I found a rest stop, where I proceeded to rinse my pants and unders in the public restroom (I had my daughter barricade the door) I tried and failed at using the hand dryer to dry out my clothes... the thing would've taken years to do the job. So here's my hack...I literally stuck my pants out the window, rolled it up to sandwich my clothes in between and for the next two hours I was half naked while my pants aired dried at 75mph. My kids, husband and I laughed so hard we could hardly breathe. Just think of all the fun we would've missed out on if I had just packed extra clothes😉

My #1 tip for an item to have in the car is a survival backpack. Yes I know all the thoughts about preppers and doomsday just went through your head but hear me out. A standard survival backpack for a family of 4 comes with a first aide kit, emergency food, flashlight, water purification options or baggie's of water, a fire starter, candles, emergency blankets, and essentially everything you and your family would need for up to two days. Are you ever going to need all of that? I hope not but you will have it just in case. Imagine going on a road trip and you break down at night and it's cold. You have blankets because of that emergency kit! Highly recommended!

Yes!! Best advice here, crazy to me that people will have makeup and a change of shoes but no emergency food source, water, or even a blanket. My kids each have an emergency backpack, and my car is ready in case we break down, get stuff in major car jams ( we were stuck on the 15fwy in CA for 12hrs once, people were trying to buy formula and diapers for hundreds of dollars from other cars).

Ya, there was a story about a mom that broke down in the desert a long while back. They were out there for three days for some reason I can’t remember but was logical. They survived by eating the kids crayons and eating a cactus, but there aren’t always cactus around and not all of them are aafe to eat. You never know when a breakdown will occur!

Receipts on thermal paper will fade if exposed to the heat of a sealed vehicle. Take pictures (or scan) with your phone. They can be stored on an app or cloud service. There is even an app to "bring back" faded text. Stores will honor returns from these images as there are store and transaction numbers. Avoid the clutter or just keep backups. Nice video.

I'm so excited to see the new things coming from you! My car tip is to keep an old ice cream bucket full of snacks on hand! This summer, I had PB crackers, fruit snacks, and Chex mix bags there & it SAVED me. With 5 aged 7 and under at my house, we lived in the car. It helped everyone stay happy until the next meal time & pacified the youngest ones in a pinch! I plan to use it this school year at pickup time to tide them over until we finish errands!

These are all great tips! Thanks for sharing, I've used a few myself when my kids were young. I also kept a large coffee can in our van behind the very back seat. Inside of the can, I kept a roll of small trash bags, a roll of toilet paper and antibacterial wipes to clean hands, just in case my toddlers had to go #2. (There was enough room and it was semi private in the very back.) They would just line the can with a trash bag and boom, an instant potty. Just tie up the used bag and toss it in the nearest trash can.

I keep a few large puppy pee pads in the car. They come in handy for accidents and spills. They can even be used as impromptu picnic blankets when the grass is wet. I also keep a barf bag tucked in the backseat pocket. They make blue plastic ones with mouth rings that fold up and take very little space. They also work really well! I think that they are called disposable emesis bags. A portable water bowl for my dogs is always in the trunk. Thanks for always sharing such great ideas with us!

Great video! I love the vacuum and all the little organizational ideas. My hack is that since we bought our new minivan earlier this year, we created a "no eating zone" in it. 😂😂Since then, the van has remained relatively clean. My other tip is I keep one of those little swiffer dusters in the side pocket in the drivers door. When I'm sitting idle either at a stoplight or in a carpool pick up line , I will quickly swiffer the dash and the console and all of that, it keeps it dust free and I just put it right back in the door and it stays there. 😁💜

I love your tips! I have a set of those plastic drawers in the back of my van. One drawer has my reusable grocery bags because I anyways forget them, one has kids activities and coloring stuff in case we're somewhere and the kids need to be occupied, one has the first aid kit and things we need on the go like a lint roller, brush, umbrellas, etc. And there's one drawer that I often put snacks in (Lara Bars, trail mix, etc.) I have a box on top of the plastic drawers with a change of clothes and a blanket for each kid. It's seriously so important to always have the vehicle prepared when you're on the go a lot.

Idk how hot it gets there or how often you change the bottles out, but it's not good to drink bottled water that's been sitting in the car getting warm. The chemicals leach from the plastic into the water. (it's the reason bottled water has an expiration date). Just sharing a friendly tip my doctor gave me. I'd hate for any of you to get sick! ♡

Great tips! :) I'm thinking of having that silicone baking cups myself! Crumbs always tend to manifest there and it's annoying to have to maneuver in the cup holder. :P One tip I found is to get a little McGuyver and take one of those over the door shoe racks, cut it a little short to fit the back of your passenger seat, get some rope, and have that be your back seat organizer. It might look a little janky, but the cheap price and more importantly, THE BIG POCKETS for all my crap I carry keeps those things easily accessible, my car clean, and clutter out of my glove box and center console. Also! RUBBER FLOOR MATS OMG WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE. I don't use the carpet mats anymore and stick with rubber mats cause they are a million times easier to clean and keep my carpets clean (for the most part). They're not that expensive and they are a buy once kind of purchase. If you have a big fancy van or truck like Mrs. Jordan, you can get them customized for a little more cash and keep your carpets kid/pet/eating in the car proof forever.

I got a small plastic “caddy”-thingie at Dollar Tree (from their craft supplies section) which fits exactly in the center console of my car. My car and console are both small, so in bigger ones it’ll fit and give room to spare. This divides the console into sections for things like chargers, mints, change, chapstick etc. without them being in a bag you have to open and dig through! Also, to keep quarters for parking meters etc., use an empty prescription pill container! You can cover it with pretty contact paper if you’re crafty.😀

Hey Page, thanks for all the ideas and tips! My favourite car-Hack is to have wet toilet paper available. It can be used universally as wet wipes, dust wipe, etc. as well, so I don't need several different wipes. Is there such a thing as moist toilet paper in the US? While we're at it... I don't know if you are aware, but you've got international viewers too! Woot, woot! And especially here in Switzerland (most of Europe in general, really) there is awesome public transport, so I go most places without a car. So being organized and prepared for all sorts of incidents is awesome and important in a car, but what about your tips for a purse/handbag? I'd love that. Maybe there already is a video like that? Well, greetings from beautiful Switzerland!

If you live in a colder climate, keep a large candle and matches inside of an empty coffee can. If you get stranded, the lit candle inside of the coffee can will generate heat to keep you warm. My dad traveled a lot when I was little so our glove box always had one of those airline vomit bags ready to go. Since we were a family of 9, many bags were often needed as once one person got sick it could easily begin a domino effect.

I mean, the dishwasher has a sterilization wash for a reason..... to sterilize things. If it works for baby bottles then it works for the pee funnel. Obviously don't put baby bottles and the pee funnel into the same wash, but as long as you run the hottest wash, everything will be fine and clean. Edit. Also just remembered that pee is literally sterile itself, it's totally fine.

Great video and I dont have kids yet ☺ one tip I heard and told my friend with little ones:: a spray bottle with water for hot car seat buckles. It doesnt matter if the water itself is hot from the car, one mist and it immediately cools it off. No more burned babies! I also heard it isnt good to drink water from plastic bottles that have been in thr car. I want to say it was a Sheryl Crow interview or something where she got breast cancer and they linked it to that. Idk it was years ago but def scared me into not drinking it. But with kids, I understand needing it. Has anyone else heard of it? Maybe not from Sheryl Crow 😂 Love ya, Jordyn! Also lovin the bump! You have way more energy than I do and I have 0 babies!!!

OHHMYGAHHDD!!! silicone cupcake liners for your cup holders!! Genius. All these tips are great! One thing i like to keep in my car is a waterproof picnic blanket. They have really spiffy ones at Costco that fold up and Velcro and have an over-the-shoulder strap. They are great for picnics when the weather is nice but the ground is wet. They are also nice to use as a barrier for diaper changes. Just partially unfold it, it's padding, it's waterproof, I turn our trunk into the changing area a lot because my CRV has a middle shelf that is at the perfect level for that. Anyway, love this video!

I keep an old diaper bag with a full outfit change for each kid in my trunk that’s seasonally appropriate incase of emergency. There’s also an empty sippy cup for my youngest, pacifier for my baby, and cloth diapers and cloth wipes. In the summer I also keep our bathing suits and swim necessities in reusable shopping bags so we always have stuff to go swimming impromptu. Sometimes I’ll also keep fishing poles and tackle boxes during the warmer months. Also, extra baby blankets are kept in my car year round. They’re great for throwing over car seats when you get out of the car because it keeps the sun off of the buckles so the seat stays cooler in the summer and in the winter they’re great if you break down and it’s cold or for if you don’t have time to warm the car up or if you have any rogue spills and run out of napkins

I don't blame her. I hated going on roads trips with my brothers when i was growing up. Once we were stuck in bumper to bumper traffic and we all had to pee SO BAD. The kids are screaming "I gotta go." Moms yelling at dad "pull over Richard the kids have to go." Dads yelling at mom "Were do you want me to pull over? I'm bumper to bumper. Please tell me exactly where do you want me to pull over at?" My brothers are squeezing the life out of themselves so they dont pee. Mom says "Richard roll down the back window. Boys unbuckle. Anna move over." My brothers hopped over the station wagon seats kneeled at the window and peed. I was and never have been so jealous of a body part until that day. Ah yes, good times. Good times were had by all except Anna. Anna still suffers from the "Better use the facilities before you leave, even if you don't have to go cuz you never know" syndrome.

One of my favorites is to take an empty hard side baby wipes container and fill it with emergency necessities. Tampons, small first aid kit, a couple extra Walmart bags (folded up), some antibacterial hand wipes, a nail file, etc. I live in Oklahoma so keeping candy in there is a no-go but if you live somewhere cooler, throws some hard candy in there. Also! Put an emergency change of clothes and diaper in for those untimely blowouts. And a blanket stored for when it’s cold and you car heater won’t get up there fast enough. Blanket also works in the summer time for your car seat. Place it in the car seat to cover to buckles and the metal won’t heat up quite as much. Lifesaver for hot summers. Speaking from someone who has a childhood scar on their back from a hot buckle.
