The IC7 has always been a prominent bike in cycling classes and is now a great choices for home gyms too, now that the updated Wattrate console has open bluetooth for those who like to Zwift etc. Very smooth, comfortable and most importantly quiet!

Hey Adam, You have some great questions there! I can't really comment directly on longevity of the IC7 bikes personally, however these bikes are of a commercial grade, designed for heavy use in cycle studios. So if you are buying one for home, it may be assumed that it will have an easier life than it was built for. Yes, I've read comments about the loose handlebar and will get some clarification from my LF peop;s - the response may be a little while as this is the fitness industries crazy season with IHRSA, FIBO and FILEX all within the next 6 weeks. With regard to the computers, I use an IC8 and the connectivity to 3rd party devices and apps is a bit of task via either the WAHOO Key or the North Pole Engineering CABLE. I prefer the 'CABLE' as it is wireless (despite the name) and allows me to charge my phone while riding. In general, your best bet is to go check out the bike in person if you can and confirm with LF if they have serviced it before selling and check your handlebar concerns too. Good luck!

I just tested and purchased a used model with visible wear and tear after heavy use in a gym, and the magnetic resistance was still out of this world smooth. Never experienced such an unbelievably fluid and quiet bike. I didn't notice any handlebar issues but mine is still getting a full tune-up before it's delivered next week.

Hey Yah, not sure about the movement in new vs old models, however I prefer a bit of lateral movement in my handlebars... it feels more like outdoor riding. Wonder if this is a design element?

I ride an IC8 and when it was delivered the console would turn on with the battery warning indicator flashing. The computer would then shut off. It took a few rides to charge up the battery properly before it worked properly. Whilst my IC8 was brand new, it may be worth your while to try riding a few sessions to see if the computer will wake up before reaching out to your local Life Fitness distributer for accurate advice and trouble shooting. Also note worthy: The new WATTRATE 2.0 computer is available and retrofittable. It has open bluetooth too, so you can connect to 3rd party cycling apps of your choosing. Not sure on the cost, but worth considering if your current computer is unfixable. (I haver tried the new console and will post a video in the coming weeks).
