So yeah my son is in hockey he is a goalie the new pads these days are Velcro which is you’re playing a nice get worn out and I knew it wasn’t the hook part that was the issue because the soft side is very worn, i’m going to try this and see if it helps if it does I am eternally grateful because you’ve helped my son not get hit in the Nads

Only marginally effective on Leatherman Wave sheath when combined with brushing the "hooks" with a toothbrush.

Would have been easier with an extended lighter like used at campsites. Well I have one place where the velcro has come unstuck, so I will try this. What I am really seeking is a video for an easy way to delaminate the film from a sticky back Velcro or double sided tape.

Just so you know your not supposed to use a lighter with it on for more than 15 seconds or might be even 10 because it could melt the thing a d explode your hand, it happened to my step dad and almost lost his hand but he got lucky and didn’t even though he could have

Another and a more safer way to do this is by using your toothbrush. Yes it sounds stupid but I guarantee you it works. Get a clean toothbrush and brush it.

Do not try this. I ruined the velcro on my C-Pap mask, now I have to buy a new mask. This is horrible advice and will cost you money.

I don't see how melting the loops would fix this issue. Too many of the loops have been broken by the hooks for the system to be effective. Melting the loops into a messy bit of plastic won't restore them to their original state - loops - and acting as one half of a system.

For the hook side you use an old toothbrush and clean out the debris .. this video is for the fluffy side ..

This is for the soft side and it does work at least a little bit and this is just in case you need to fix it in a pinch

it works because the fluffy side is actually little loops of plastic and what probably happened is they became disconnected and the fire melts them back on to the sheet
