A couple weeks ago I ran across an article about using WD-40 for leather and vinyl care. So i thought, why not? Let's give it a try. I used it on my F250 with I am sure is a leather / vinyl seat cover. What I liked about it is that the WD-40 picked up dirt or pulled it off the seat. My seats are in good condition but the driver's side is worn a bit more than the passenger side for all the obvious reasons.
The seats covers are about four years old as I had replaced them when I purchased the truck. In part one I wiped down the passenger seat with warm water and a mild soap. Dried and then applied the WD-40. I used a microfiber cloth and sprayed the WD-40 onto the cloth.
It seemed to work well and overall as a cleaner and I was pleased with the result. My only concern is that it will ultimately dry out the seat. I don't think that it but I will watch and see.
One last note... Just as a side note. I did wipe down the seat with a clean cloth when done, just to pick up any excess oils. Again, overall I was pretty happy with the results. My cloth was fairly dirty when done. So on that note... it seemed to work.
