Chile is one of the most beautiful countries on earth. Santiago feels just like a city in Spain. The Lakes District is incredible. Valparaiso region on the coast is beautiful. The two main universities in Santiago are excellent.

Good fotage but there is some facts that are not precisely explained, eg. taxes, meanwhile here in Europe we said..."I paid 43% of my income in taxes", in Chile we have a low taxability because the social security is not included like here, you must to pay at least 7% for health insurance and 12,5% for rent, with these values, you paid monthly close to 20%. At least here in Germany, the payment of taxes includes a lot of social coverages. About smoking, since year 2010 that is not allow to smoke in every single place where they serve something to eat (I mean coffee, meals, whatever), today the restrictions including public parks, stadium and every single closed space. And one time, one friend of Brazil told me something that makes sense to me...why Chileans are so quite (in compare with other south american countries)?, it is because we have the preassure of the Andes and the majestuosity of the Pacific Ocean. I love my country and always I felt proud when I have the chance to talk to the others about my country.

Fun fact: Not Sahara or Gabi, The Atacama Desert, located in the north of the country, is the driest desert on Earth, with an average annual rainfall of just 0.6 inches a year. So instead of spending a ton of money to fly into space to explore Mars, we can come here and experience it for real!😇

There are several inaccuracies in the video, the military government brought progress and began the economic growth of the country. There is a ban on smoking in all closed spaces, even smoking is prohibited on beaches and parks, smoking is only allowed in the streets. Anyone gets an appointment for medical attention, sometimes on the same day in the private system. The public system can make you wait months. The food is not expensive, in good restaurants for two people it can cost you US$60

Yes and no. The narrator said "earthquakes," and then mentioned tsunamis that occurred as a RESULT of the earthquake in 1960. Southern Chili was hit, as was Hawaii, Japan, and the Philippines.

Your view of history is lacking to say the least and shows you have no clue as to the history and in this occasion the history of the Spanish Empire which went from peninsular Spain to what we today call Phillipines. Chile was never invaded and the many republics that today make up Hispanic America never existed until the early 1800s. The artificial borders that were made up in the early 1800s during the civil war were in fact drawn up by the English who supplied ships, army, weapons and money to destroy the Spanish viceroyalties in Spanish America as at the time peninsular Spain was under attack by Napoleon's armies which destroyed all farms, factories, buildings. All the gold and silver owned by the government was taken by English ships. During the Spanish government of more than 300 hundred years the economy and living standards were far greater than those of in Europe or England, as commented by Humboldt on one of his reports before the 'civil war'. This is the reason why England tried, and failed miserably, many times to invade in many points, like Buenos Aires. Get your facts correct. I could keep going but I think you get my point. Do some reading and you will find out far more.

Santiago in old town had most indigenous people in 2023. It was surprising to note Chile in Santiago is not a ‘white’ country. It looks like the white minority with former dictator Pinochet dominated the other groups. Yes, there were Venezuelans, but then they are everywhere from Columbia to Peru.

Chile is like 30-40% white depending on how you define it. go to las condes or lo barnechea and you have around 70% europeans.

Sounds like Chile's most pressing issue is the unbridled immigration. Time to put a collar on the NGOs operating there and get a handle on the situation. Likewise the central bankers. Their inflation is seeming to become rampant. If it costs a buck 50 US to have dinner for two on a patio with a view, prices are getting to the breaking point. Where does all that money go, to the immigrants? No wonder fast food places are so popular! I would love to have a place in the Antarctic rainforest of Chile.

A beautiful country! Unfortunately our compatriots continue on a ZURDO or CONG mentality which it will be the downfall of it. A lot of faults. Same as many other countries but it does not need to happen! I hope they realize this cause its going in that direction! Many Chilean Cong on this side of the woods too and working for YOU TUBE ! Every time I write something, they erase it! ZURDOS!
