This is what my mom has been doing for years with the yogurt thing. U can check it out. Boil the milk first then stir it for few minutes till it cools down to the over lukewarm. Drop some on your back of ur hand to check it. * If it's too hot, this would kill all the latic acid bacteria in the yogurt that you put later. Then just put yogurt that you got from the store and stir well( highly recommend having 3-4 table spoons of sugar at this steps to balance the sour taste after fermentate the yogurt but my mom prefers condenense milk one for the mild sweet yogurt) * Pour the batter into the seperate container or any bowl that is smaller than the inner pot of rice cooker. Then put water into inner pot(about halfly high of the pot or eyeball it just to prevent it from spilling into the yogurt batter container that would put into later). Turn on rice cooker and totally set up to the 70°. Safe choice is to wait few minutes for the rice cooker to heat the water up to the 70°. * Faster tip is using microwave to heat it up and pour unto the pot then wait about 1-2 minute to cool down to the 70°. Put the yogurt batter into the water pot. Cover the rice cooker and keep it stay still at "keep warm" mode for 8-10 hours( more time,more sour, more firm as well). Degree is important to make yogurt at home so make sure everything not overly hot or not warm enouth to fermentate it. Hope u can successfully make it !

I usually eat homemade yogurt, and I would say the yogurt that you bought at the market is probably not good enought to make yogurt, and I use instant pot to make yogurt and it comes out great.
