Hey, great video! I thoroughly enjoyed it. The views of these apartments are so nice! Just wondering if these apartments can be covered by the school? As you’ve mentioned that you’re a teacher. I’m planning to do a pgce to be a teacher in the future and one place I consider to reach in the future is Doha!

Thank you so much ☺️😁. Yes they can be - Housing is provided by all employers here, whether directly or through an allowance. However, something to note is that it can differ as it will depend on your package.

Now that you’ve found an apartment and have been settled for a while, are there any buildings in The Pearl you recommend? Good quality ones with good maintenance and minimal hassle 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

awesome video (: did you go through any agencies/websites? any you'd recommend? would be super helpful as i'll be apartment hunting soon!

Thank you Duaa. The apartments I viewed in this video were through agencies but there were others that I had found and viewed on my own. Have an idea of the area you wish to live, check out property finder to help and just go one weekend and hit the pavement - saves a bunch out of agency fees!! Good luck hunting :-).

You pronounced Qatar right the first time. Its the same letter T as in the word "Tall". The "Q" is an exaggerated sound like in "Query" you hear the "Q" distinctly and doesn't sound like the letter "K".

Hi Sarah, these apartments were in The Pearl and Lusail area. Rental prices at the time of the vlog were 11K and above.

I didn’t unfortunately, I went looking a little too early before my actual move date. I will definitely do another video on current rentals. In the meantime you can also check out the Property Finder website as it’s pretty much used by most looking for rentals here.

Thank you Bhavnish. At the time of filming, these apartments were above 11k. Rental prices have changed over the last couple of months so it would be better to check with an agent or property website.

I chose not to include the apartment I decided upon, however, if my memory serves, the apartments in the video were all priced over 10k at the time of filming.

Hi Abhay, the areas are mentioned in the description box, however rent has increased since the time of filming so wouldn’t be current prices. My advice is to check a property website (Property Finder is a good one) for current prices. All the best with your search.

Apartment hunting in Qatar is very stressful. You have to be careful when you deal with real estate agents because they say something but reality is something else. Even though you find a good apartment, poor maintenance and rude behavior of the real estate staff will make your life hell to live in. Please ensure the agent you are dealing with speaks proper English not Arabic English because Arabic English is not English. Inspect the house thoroughly for any damage/ defect and bring it to their attention coz they will do the best they can to strain the money out of your security deposit when you decide to vacate the house.

Are there any buildings you recommend in The Pearl that are well maintained and good quality / minimal hassle? Thank you!

There are a few - Viva Bahriya is one that you can look into. They have brand new towers there, existing towers that are a few yrs old as well some still being built. It’s a little newer than Porto Arabia but from what I have seen both mentioned are pretty well maintained.

@@JaeyDaRobin thank you. Yes, have been looking into this area but I think the different towers are a hit and miss. Hopefully a viewer might be able to give feedback on which towers to opt for. I know sometimes things aren’t immediately obvious and then you move in and it becomes a nightmare 🙈

I don’t think it’s any different from applying anywhere else - if you are qualified for the role you applied for then you will have a chance at getting the job.
