It's very common for a Dominican to offer you a ride if they see you walking. If Dominicans stares at you, most of the time it's because they are curious about foreigners. Just like any other country, you need to be cautious and use common sense. Seems like you are having a blast. Thank you

Everywhere i was going in Punta Cana all the cabbies were charging me $20 bucks left and right, after the 4th day i wised up and rented a chevy spark for $25 a day ( saves me a lot of money). Next visit to Punta Cana i rented a Nissan Sentra for $35 per day not bad.
