8 year old me fell in love with the 1992 Cowboys. I got spoiled seeing them win 3 out of 4 until it all stopped in 6th grade in 1996. I was part of the many kids that played Tecmo Super Bowl over and over. Hell, I even got Troy AIkman's football game in 1994 and played as the Cowboys and scored 100 points. We millennial kids got spoiled as Cowboy fans. We thought it would last forever and then it was over by 1997. The same thing happened with the Patriots. They had it last 20 years, so they grew up with a generation of always winning from 2001 to 2021. The Chief fans are having their golden age right now. Thankfully we have KZfaq to go back and replay all those games.

That was 1990. I had no idea what would take place the next five years. I would love another Championship, but after thirty years of heartbreak I have come to realize that no wins beat what I experienced in the 1990s. It was a special time to be a fan. Pat Summerall had an amazing voice. He gets so overlooked in the relationship.

This was a trip down memory lane. I was in the 4th grade and just getting into football when the Cowboys went to the Super Bowl in '92. I remember the two weeks leading up to the game, the excitement in the air was palpable, it was a forgone conclusion that the Cowboys were going to win and do so in convincing fashion. The game itself was like a coronation. I remember being over at my great-aunt's house for the Thanksgiving Day game against the Dolphins, everybody was there, my grandma and her half-dozen sisters. The loss was brutal, but as you mentioned that was the last game they lost that season. I remember the heartache of the '94 Championship loss to the hated 49ers. I hated Steve Young and the 49ers for years after that Lol. Even though it was a loss the game itself, even with the non call on the obvious pass interference by Deon against Irvin, was incredible. That loss really seemed to heat up the rivalry. The trash talking at school between fans of the two teams was intense. Arguing whose team's history was better, who was the better QB, Aikman or Young. The week before Super Bowl XXX I remember everybody wearing their Cowboys jerseys to school. The NFL Starter Jackets, how could I forget. I remember in junior high being told to be careful if you had one because people would try to steal them Lol. As great as 92-95 was, 96-99 was just as painful. I never really took to Deon though like I did the triplets or Haley, I was glad that we was on the team, but he was always just a hired gun to me.

One thing you missed, old school Fantasy Football and eliminator betting pools with the guys at school. Buying a Lindy's or other FF Preview magazine, sitting in for a draft in some empty classroom or quiet spot on the school yard during lunch, each week bringing a piece of paper to your league commish with your FF starting lineup or your weekly eliminator picks, and the best part is that the Cowboys were so good you could just load up on your favorite Cowboys players and you'll still have a top notch fantasy team or always make a Cowboys win your high point bet and still always be a threat to win the betting pool.

@@thelogicalcowboy Imagine telling our fathers in back then what would become of gold medal winning decathlon athlete Bruce Jenner! Not one person would have believed us. In fact we’d probably have been punished for saying something like that. 😂 The Cowboys were larger than life. Tony Dorsett was from Pittsburgh. One night Johnny Carson held up what looked like a copper pipe. He said it was Ed “Too Tall” Jones Super Bowl ring. Even when we beat the Cowboys it was barely & they almost came back. As great as Thomas “Hollywood” Henderson was, I think that’s why he even bothered Landry & other Cowboys at times. The rest of the Cowboys didn’t talk much. They did all their talking on the field. Had they beat the Colts in their first Super Bowl & the Steelers in the other 2 then they would’ve been the undisputed “Team of the 70s.” They were so classy that we had to admire them. They were the NY Yankees of football. The star & the pinstripes both commanded attention & the men who wore them always seemed to act in way that commanded respect. Later I saw Dan Marino play at Pitt & fellow Penn State fans got mad at me for saying that Marino was going to be a great pro QB. I couldn’t understand what teams cared so much Elway when Marino was coming up in the same draft. Sorry to type so much. Thanks for reviving the great memories. Love your channel.

I had to watch HBO inside the nfl. Man you brought back all enjoyed back then. Not being able to watch all my game made me feel less a cowboy fan. Yes I hated those 8ers. But living on my USA naval vessel fresh off a Persian gulf tour that was stationed in the San Francisco Bay Area was a exhilarating feeling beating them with that Alvin Harper catch. Excuse my run on sentence(s) but it’s Friday night and it is great to be a Cowboy but especially back then with my back yard being candle stick park and we kick those 48ers. Believe it or not, I'm a 40 year old Eagles fan from Philly who started as an 8 year old cowboys fan! My uncle Marty was a huge Dallas fan and he made sure it rubbed off on me. My dad was an eagles fan but wasn't in my life cause he was addicted to drugs so my uncle Marty would come and pick me up some weekends and take me to Phillies games and all he'd talk about were the cowboys on the way home. Got to the point where I became a fan until I was around 17-18. Then I realized I had no business being a fan of a team I've never stepped foot in the city of, and my Philly pride brought me back to my rightful home of being a die hard birds fan. Now I bleed green and hardly have the courage to even tell anybody the truth of how I started as a Dallas fan cause as we all know, that's sacrilegious to birds fans. Lol But, yeah, I had the blue cowboys starter jacket with the huge star on the back and big velcro pocket in the front, cowboys helmet, Emmitt Smith rookie card, and all the other fixings in between. So yeah, I completely understand your passion for 90s cowboys fandom because I lived it too, and it was really fun, but don't tell nobody else I said that!

Hey LC. For the first time in my life I'm leaving the fanship of the cowboys which as you might recall me saying several times started when the team was founded. I've been thinking about it and finally have made my decision. I'd rather switch teams than wait for the cowboys to become winners again. Rather find a growing team with possibilities than a perineal loser in playoffs. I'm more interested in Washington Commanders than Dallas Cowboys. It's time to depend on players who prefer a ring more than a paycheck. Time to leave the Jones clan. Time to find a more aggressive and progressive team than a predictable, old, stale philosophy. I have enjoyed your channel pal. But the Cowboys will do much worse the coming season and I've had enough of almost thirty years of lazy players, coaches and mostly Jerry Jones the Cursed. Good bye and take care. I'm unsubscribing.
