Күн бұрынWe are in the lush, green mountains of Barangay Bayyo, Bontoc where the picturesque rice terraces thrive and grow. For generations, the Ibayyo people hold a sacred relationship with the land that they live in, and we were fortunate enough to be invited by a local to witness the rice planting process from start to finish.
Khachiw, Tapuey, and Safeng-these are the treasures that await us on our journey. We’re going on an epic adventure with our host and guide, Tatay Dionisio, who generously shared the beautiful sights and flavors of his home with us on this once in a lifetime experience.

Since my siblings and I were born and raised in Baguio, this really resonates with me. Hopefully this will lead to more awareness of how precious this way of life is and allow it to flourish and thrive.

These rice plots are disappearing more and more tbh. and all of them are being transformed into subdivisions. instead of flourishing these farmers and lands, they're poor and not even given proper payment with the efforts to make a living.

Read it's also partly our fault, we forced our equal inheritance laws on them. Apparently prior to that only the eldest inherit land. Since now it get split every generation, it has come to the point that the plots have become small and just barely enough for subsistence farming.
