My cat literally saved my life. Three years ago I was trying to recover from a serious illness and was incredibly lonely and depressed. That's when a beautiful orange cat walked into my yard and introduced himself. I was glad to make his acquaintance but I was very resistant to taking on a pet. However, this cat was persistent and he kept coming around for the next few months, refusing to take "no" for an answer. Finally the weather turned bitter cold and I took him in, he got me over my loneliness & depression, and my furry little buddy became my best friend. Today I wouldn't trade my cat for a million dollars as he is the reason I recovered and feel like life is worth living again.

I've been a cat lover for nearly my whole life (I'm 73); I can't imagine having to live without them. We have a "ginger" who looks very like your fellow, except our "Golden Boy" is quite fluffy. You're absolutely right: life IS better with cats. A cat curled up on your lap, purring to beat the band, is absolute heaven. And your lad is beautiful, too.

My cat Pumpkin is feral and she lost touch with her family at four weeks old. It has taken four years and stress relief drops each day to have her finally let me pet her for more than two minutes (we’re up to seven) and she will lay down next to me on my bed for a brief period of time. She is sweet with me but it takes baby steps to progressively get her to loosen up more. I do love her so!

I like your cat. Reminds me of mine regarding his need for petting. Only major difference is my boy is all white. I got him from the shelter when he was little. He is deaf and has FIV. They said he would not live long. I have had the little fella 12 years. Every one of those years has been great with the little ball of fur curling up on my lap while awake and sleeping next to me.
