Growing up poor in a trailer park has its perks. Comedian Dusty Slay explains that life is hard and that’s why it’s important to always have a good time anyway. Dusty Slay is a Nashville based Stand Up Comedian. Slay was born in Alabama raised by very happy divorced parents in a trailer park and on a farm. He can be seen on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Comedy Central, the Grand Ole Opry and was voted Top 10 Comics to Watch by Variety Magazine in 2019. I was very depressed at my job in 2016. I was also a huge fan of The Office. I wished I loved my job as much as Michael and Dwight. I started pretending I did, focused on the positive aspects instead of the negative, and it completely changed my outlook and happiness.

You're so smooth your audience doesn't even realize you're pulling double duty as their psychologist and subconsciously helping them purge all those pent up emotions and anxiety stricken fears of are they good enough to be in the live audience of a dusty slay comedy deluxe grand slam with constant positive reinforcement reminders hey we're having a good time and no other professional comedian offers that at no extra charge. This is my dream and goal... To do a TEDx talk... I set it as my 10 year goal once I got sober... I used to do stand up, but alcohol brought me down after 3 years... So, this was encouraging to see how it's done with another comedian. Thanks Dusty...

Netflix special brought me here. 80 percent of the jokes from the special was in this talk with a couple of minutes of what I would call behind the scenes of his story as a comedian. Overall I enjoyed this Ted talk and I’m off to find the lady that poops at David’s bridal.

DUSTY!! Elevating TED Talk to an even hire level of prestige than what it was, great job!! I agree 100% with your message. So much so, I took an early retirement and walked away from $50K per year, made adjustments in my life to be able to live comfortably off lesser fixed income, eliminating stress, doing volunteer work, and simply enjoying life with my wife. P.S. I also lived in a trailer park for a while when I was a kid ;)

Love you Dusty! My dad had a 1990 Ford Thunderbird Super Coupe growing up then it became my first car. I did not know its NASCAR history but you showed it at the end of your special and I really appreciate that as my father passed away nearly 10 years ago. It was like he was reaching out, just like Alan Kulwicki.

It's a ted talk style talk not normal comedy routine, the point of it is to deliver a good message of life to help others find a good mindset, dusty did throw jokes but his message was to always look for something to be happy in always cause we're having a good time🤙🏼

I love Dusty. I saw him at the DC Improv in November 2022 and he explained that the speaker before him told a story about pooping in a David’s Bridal. So that comment didn’t come out of no where as it appears. Amazing Ted Talk. Thanks Dusty - had a great time!
