The last few weeks here at the little boho cottage have been filled with time in my garden by the woods, lots of photography work, and even some fun surprises I didn't see coming! I visited some thrift stores from my past ... traveled all around the Hudson Valley, and took EVERY opportunity possible to stop and enjoy this incredibly beautiful world we live in. Gratitude is so important!
My beautiful green maxi dress as well as my yellow midi dress are both from Daughters of India. I LOOOOOOVE these boho dresses and have pretty much lived in the yellow one the last few years, www.daughtersofindia.net

I love the longer videos. This one was wonderful. Confession to make. I have been drooling over the Daughters of India dresses for a couple of years. I've nearly ordered one countless times, but I couldn't justify the cost. Today, after your video, I told myself I deserved this dress. It was a terrible winter and spring, so I decided to just go ahead and order the one I've been eyeing. Life is short. I rarely splurge, but today I did!! Thank you😊

You inspired me to splurge on a Daughters of India dress to celebrate my 78th birthday! The clothes remind me so much of the hippie dresses I made for myself in the late 60’s and it’s never too late to dress in celebration of the peace and love we work so hard toward! I'm almost 76 and yes -- I too remember those flowing Indian clothes and bedspreads we'd buy in "Head Shops." I always wore tops from those places, with lots of beads and bells. And though I'm crappy at sewing, I did make a couple of dresses, probably the same type you made!

Hi! I just am watching your video for the first time. I'm 81 yrs. old and live in Idaho on the outskirts of a small town. I didn't know I was the BoHo type till I saw your house. My house is a trailor added onto that is decorated with every color and type of thing. I love the eclectic look. And I paint, so I have so many pictures. I love everything used and old and loved. My daughter was so pained by my taste. She felt was no taste at all. So , she lives in a beautiful new home with all new furniture and she can tell you all the shades of white. She thot I would be jealous, she was suprised when I told her I chose all those things in my house. My yard is also wild sort of, with little yard after little yard. Lots of trees and vines. I love when you walk in the water in your dresses. Charlie is such a cutie. You need a little mat for your front door that says “YOU ARE LOVED” like the tiled entryway. Hi Kate & Charlie. This video is perhaps the best you have done. I say that lightly because it's really hard to pick. One of my favorite parts was of you lying on that beautiful bench in the park. So sweet. Charlie nibbling on your fingers is just his way of playing. Monet 🐾, my lil female Shih Tzu does the same thing. She wants me to take a time out and focus on her and play. It's a way of trust and bonding I think. Charlie is a good, happy and content lil boy who loves his Momma! You two are a great match! Love your videos Kate! I am lost for words with your videos...I just LOVE towns with all those shops...we have a few around here..one place is HUGE called the Lambs Tail...they have antiques and so many antique garden things..but it has been very rainy here too..and more coming..so it would be quite muddy..your food always looks so good..and healthy..everything looks beautiful..❤

Thanks once again, Kate, for taking us all over the Hudson Valley! And it didn't even cost me a dime in gas. Wow, it is so beautiful to see all those glorious trees and flowers in bloom. Some of it is starting up here in Canada, but where I am we are a bit later as I'm at higher altitude, and a bit farther north. Your video makes me want to take a few days to travel down through the Hudson Valley just to sightsee and check out the thrift stores! Good for you for saying yes to being filmed for the thrifting video! You are so good at it, and I certainly enjoy all the thrifting visits. You are absolutely my favorite person to watch, I never really write, but if there are any twins in the world, your personality and style.. so much alike, I even have a small chihuahua his name is Dyno. 4 pounds. 3yrs old I've watched and learned from you as well. ❤❤❤i so much enjoy learning from you. Here's another tip on DE that powder you use for ticks, I also get cedar chips like pet bedding and put out around my home. Ticks don't like I, and neither does other bugs. Smells bad for bugs but outside air is clear. Just a tip. I'm buying dresses now. 🎉

Thank you for the tour around my beloved Hudson Valley; I was born and raised in Poughkeepsie. I'm 81 now, but when I was a girl my Mother would take us to Rhinebeck for the afternoon to explore and get ice cream at the drug store there. Such good memories!! You should never worry about others taking photos and video of you:) I have a little chi mix and I bought her a doggie stroller for those times when I want to go window shopping or buying small items. It's perfect and she loves it. I can zip it up because it has as a fabric screen so she can see out, or I can keep the screen up. I keep it in my car so it's always there if I need it. Well this video sure was long for me, First off it started with your pasta and olive oil, I was like ohhhh that looks lovely and as you talked about it I thought ok im going to make some stir fry and noodles. I hit pause got cracking on the stir fry got it as far as the plate when my Daughter text me," Look outside" now this is 11.30 PM In Ireland. And what a spectacular sight it was the Northern Lights right over our heads, OMG never seen before it was stunning, lasted for a good 25 mins. Even my little fur ball was thinking so why are we out this late. lol. Then when I got back inside my food was cold, re heat and then my other 3 kids were texting me did you see, and I will send photos , and oh wish you were here. So they were delighted I got to see it all.So sat and watched the rest of your lovely video and as I was eating I said to you Girl you are so lucky I have Chocolate lol which I had with a cup of tea after my soggy stir fry. You should be kind to yourself and see how people just randomly talk to you, and do Interviews, goes to show you are just a lovely girl, so please rest assured you come across on video so well and I really enjoy all your content. I noticed my little chi regressed socially when I didnt take her in the stores during covid. I have a little foam seat cover not attached to my drivers seat, I grab that to push her in my shopping cart. It kind of goes up each side of the top part of the shopping cart and she feels safe that way and that way only❤ I just adore little Charlie and how much your energies blend togethet so beautifully.

I have a 5 lb chihuahua, Newton. He wears "Lil Pals" harness, never a collar. I hook him inside the soft carrier. He is ok with it. Good luck!

Great video, Kate! Enjoyed the little villages...a fun excursion. How awesome...you were in 2 docs!! Hopefully that will being you even more subscribers. Charlie sure loves his window bed! Was thinking that maybe he doesn't like the sound of the shopping cart or the rolling motion. A pet sling or pouch carrier may be lighter weight and take pressure off your shoulder. 😊🐶

Hi Kate. Gorgeous vlog as always. A note on the diatomaceous earth make sure you are using food grade. It will still kill the bugs but won't harm any critters that may happen to eat it -- including Charlie. Also, if it's food grade, you can put it in a little shaker bottle, apply a little to Charlie's fur, brush it through his coat, and you'll have a natural flea and tick treatment.

Hi 👋🏻 I watch every video but never comment but wanted to say that I had a precious little Chihuahua as well . He was adopted from a shelter so I knew nothing about him . I found quickly that he wouldn’t want to stay in the cart either & would whine to get out . I put a doggie bed pad / doggie bed in the cart & he instantly layed down & enjoyed himself . I kept his lil leash on just in case he’d decide to jump out so I’d feel the tug . I loved taking him places . He left me 2 years ago & honestly I cry every single day missing him . Give Charlie a hug or snack lol from me . 🥰♥️

Thank you so much for sharing your adventures with all of us. You and Charlie refresh my soul!! We had a big snow storm here where I live. The snow was two feet high with three feet high drifts. The power was out for four days. It just came back on this afternoon... The temperature is supposed to rise this weekend into the mid seventies. Flooding is expected. Seeing your video made my day. About Charlie in the cart...have you tried using a body harness & securing that with enough give to move a bit but not enough to jump out? Maybe an adjustable chain with a carabiner? How fun about the documentary. I know how you feel but honestly, you are beautiful. The "casual look" like a messy bun, is more beautiful, to me anyway, than more "put together" looks. I do think your hair wave for the interview looked really great. Anyway, I'm sure you did a great job & I wish we could all see both interactions. ☺️♥️ We are all super proud of you!!!☆

Hi! I just wanted to share something I recently read regarding ticks. The article said that there are 7 plants that help to keep ticks out of your yard...mums, garlic and onions, lemongrass, marigold, lavender, rosemary, and wormwood. Of course they don't say how much you'd have to plant but interesting non the less.
