We asked three unique and lovely centenarians what their most valuable life lessons were, and also their regrets.
The conversations that followed were remarkable. They talked about the importance of family, people, relationships and love. Their view on life, as an elderly citizen with a lot of experience is truly an inspiration and motivation. Enjoy the video! And please let us know what your thoughts are!

Gives me chills whenever it shows their dates of birth. The woman was born in 1913. Just wow. Every single thing in her world is different from when she was young. Imagine being alive in like 2100

Turns out what happens in life is not what affects our happiness, rather how we react to what happens to us is much more important. How we react is what we are able to control. I think the healthy, fresh, food is so important, and rare these days. Also air and water. Notice how healthy they look? No bad arthritis, so healthy immune systems. I bet they all came from loving homes, too. It’s a shame adults in our society do not value elder people and the wisdom they have accrued throughout their lives. Thank you, Seniors, for your participation, and thanks to Life Hunters.

Well it's strange, because my friend's daughter told me the other day she's 3 and a half, and we all laughed at how cute it is. And of course, when you have only been alive for 3 years, a half a year is a very long time, and quite a big deal. But it was refreshing to hear a man 99 years older still using the half 🙂

I started a conversation with an older gentleman at the gym the other day. I like talking to people and have been into the gym for 20 years now. I'm 37. I knew this guy was older but when he told me he had just celebrated his 95th birthday I was shocked. That is by far the oldest person I have seen lifting weights and in such shape. So cool. He told me his son died at 52 and he outlived his wife. Then he said what I was seriously hoping for. He asked if I would go for a coffee with him sometime. It was literally the cutest thing in the world. He said the following: "You have no idea how much you made my day by talking to me, thank you." "When you get to my age there aren't many people left you know." "Most people just pass you by." It was heart warming seriously people. I shared that cool story because as younger people we don't feel the way they do. The world still sees us. Heck, sometimes we get so much attention we want people to actually leave us alone!! lol. I know I do sometimes. Most cultures hold their elders in very high regard, we should all hold them there. Try to talk to these lovely people whenever you can. Just say hello if nothing else, you will almost always receive a warm smile. Cheers

I really felt this. I'm 17 now, making plans for my life, wanting to chase money and success, being great and change the world, becoming important in a wider meaning. But when I see such things, when people who have already lived tell me what living really is like, I think I'm completely missing the point: I just want to be happy, and live a happy and fulfilling life. And when I'll be old I think it won't matter if I had been rich or if my life plans had gone right, I will only care about how I really lived my life. Thank you for sharing your stories, teaching us these life lessons. Should definitely talk more with my grandparents...

Er, the whole time I was watching it, it struck me that they all look quite well off, live in nice homes, in nice locations......so I think you should chase money and success in your younger years, or you won't be living like that once you're retired (unless you are coming into an inheritance at some point). And that is the reality.

I talked with my neighbor who was 97 years old. He was becoming incredibly frail and I would see him sit outside with his walker. I would join him whenever I saw him outside, and he would talk about his experiences in Poland and being a child prisoner, and his experience in the RAF as a radar operator during WW2, also how he came to the USA and started a family. That man really lived a life that I will never come close to experiencing. He passed away about this time last year and I was really glad that I sat and talked with him. We both share the same first name and heritage, I only knew him for about a year and I miss him.

Benevolent I am stubborn as they say. I don't really give up, and never feel like I should. But society has twisted the minds of a lot of women. Have fun, always have options, then if you persist there's a chance you'll look unattractive. Unfortunately I still don't give up. And am too forgiving. Society looks at me with pity but I refuse to change for this world. I'm happy this way, and playing games like that has never been me. I know I'll be good enough for somebody someday. Tears at the end. There's so much to learn from older people. But mostly their smile and positive outlook! They sound happy! I'm 72 and I'm still looking to "change the world" and complete my artistic pursuits. My motto is " Never give up!" God will do the rest! ✝️💜

I come from Poland and my own grandparents were extremely uptight, rarely smiling people. I got married with a Japanese man and all the elders in his family are the exact opposite. I never knew someone can be over 90 and this happy, this joyful, this social, this nice. I'm surely glad to become part of his family. Seems people don't really change with age much. They just are who they are.

No. It is nearly impossible to change who you are. You are who you are. You can become more patient, more kind, more understanding, etc. but you will always be who You've always been even with effort to change you are really just polishing yourself.

I was about 9 years old at a penocostal church. An there was this old world war 2 veteran he was 90 something. An at that time i dressed like a soldier cause i wanted to be a soldier when i got older . When church was over i walked up to him an saluted him an he started reaching in his pocket to hand me something . But his hands were shaking too much. I always wondered what he was gonna hand me. Godbless him i know hes in heaven now maybe ill find out one day when i see him in heaven what he wanted to give me .

I have a feeling a lot of it if not all of it is due to how they allow themselves to be treated and treat others. Even in what you might call a difficult situation there's still help if you need it and by calling it in you love yourself. It's easily a nice thing to do. On the food subject, yes the food was different for the first so many years of their lives but these people live in England and people there still eat differently than those in America. I do love eating wonderful fresh food, a garden-grown organic potato or tomato feels so... Alive.

My grandfather lived with me for awhile when he was in his late 80’s before he passed away. He told me to live my dream and let no one ever hold me back from living it. He told me that good men are as rare as diamonds, and not to fall for the fake shiny and sparkly ones. It takes time and examination to find the true gem of the earth. He lived to 92 years young. We grandkids used to joke that he would be found propped up on some sort of farm equipment out in the field when he passed. It wasn’t far from the truth in the end. I want to be like him.

That generation is truly beautiful and so inspiring❤️ I am Gen z, and while there are good things about my generation, we lack the gratitude, humility, and selflessness generations before us have. Sadly, these beautiful things have been replaced with self-entitlement and narcissism. I only hope to have the wisdom of these three one day, and live my life with selflessness, positivity, love, gratitude, humility, and kindness toward others. This can be such a battle though as the pull of the world I am living in is strong. I, along with our society, need to refocus on God again! He is our only hope.

@@justhere7630 I’m sorry for the struggles you have gone through in your life! I cannot imagine how hard it must have been to grow up in foster care and witness what you did, and I am sure that you are a very strong person who does embody all of these beautiful traits!! I did not mean to imply that every person in our generation is entitled, narcissistic, and completely lacking these positive qualities, and I do believe that a person’s (no matter his or her generation) upbringing and and life experience play a huge role in character!! I guess I just meant that in the day in age we are living in (especially with the selfishness that is often attached to social media), the level of self-entitlement and narcissism seems to be much more pronounced than it was in the generations that experienced terrible things like war and economic depressions (kinda like what you mentioned- “The harder the journey, the more softer it will make you”).

I remember I was taking care of a man in Hospice a few years ago and he was in his 80s. And he said "wow, this has been quite the experience" and I remember getting so sad because I could tell he felt like life went by so quick. And it truly does :( We can't slow it down. And the older we get, the quicker it goes :(

Easy, lucky, stress-free life with a positive/happy outlook seems to be the recipe for a long life. There seems to be no trauma in the childhood of those that live very long. Plus they also seem to gravitate towards stable, mentally and emotionally healthy partners, continuing the bliss. Shows you how stress is a killer and harmony a healer.

Amelia outlived her children who she says she loved ‘immensely’ and her husb who she’d been with since 16. That’s not stress free. She was emotionally resilient and adapted to the cards dealt.
