Just watched this movie on tv and it is incredibly beautiful and thought provoking. The special effects were awesome. I see it as it's how life keeps throwing obstacles our way and how we react to them.

One of my all time favorite films...love the fact Pi has more than one religion and his reasons for that. The photography was amazing as well as the computer generated scenes. I could watch this film over and over.

Arguably one of the best movies of all time. Now I've watched very few movies compared to how many have been made, but this movie does something very few do. It can be interpreted in so many ways, wherever you see this as an amazing journey, a way of finding god or just a movie with a fantastic picture is your choice. This is a masterpiece that stuns both critics and the common film watcher.

to all atheists ( include me ) what or whom would you hold on to amidst an ocean after you lose your rationality and break yourself i'd say god (hipocrite of me), this movie makes me realize the helplessness we can face and ofc LIFE as a Grand Happening 🙏

Truly wonderful film - saw it again on TV today (originally caught the 3D version in cinemas which was breathtaking) and it is such a moving and touching film. Regardless of which story you believe in the end its a powerful film that resonates very deeply. Ang Lee you outdid yourself with this one. When I read the book years ago after it won the MAN BOOKER I though there was no ways they would ever be able to turn this one into a film yet Ang managed to take something that seemed unfilmable and a lovingly watchable and well interpreted version of Yann Martel novel must make Yann very proud considering Hollywoods heritage of butchering literary works. But then this is the man who gave us Sense and Sensibility so I should have known we would be in good hands.

I first saw this movie and thought mmm must be fairly ordinary. Hired it out and was amazed. I then purchased it on 3D and have watched it 3 times since. This is one movie you should only watch in 3D for the first time. The story, the emotion and visuals rate far beyond what any reviewer is capable of giving. A movie like no other. Well worth every cent you pay for it.

It was a good movie, saw it yesterday, looked at it cause I saw a piece where he said: if we 're gona live together, we hve to communicate... didn 't get the end though, too much of a mind switch too fast for me that was, but come to think of it today the guy was not expressing himself truthfully when he said that his fear for the tiger had kept him alive 'cause he outsmarted him easily and had occasions enough to get rid of him, he just couldn 't as was shown even, it was his love for the tiger and believing in it having a soul as well that had made him save the animal and that also saved him, fear was only secondary, it obliged him to stand on his toes of course 'cause the animal was so dangerous, but it gave him purpose to take care of him and friendship (if only in his mind), kept him from feeling too lonely anyway and then in the end it did disappoint him much also cause it was not capable of friendship it seemed or only in one direction, but all that didn 't affect the guy 's love life afterwards, he became a loving husband and father: a real happy man..; that 's why I cannot get my head around the other version he had to make up for the investigators... it 's film of course, make believe anyway, not gonna even try to think of him as the tiger, to rethink the whole film in that way and then killed his own mother or what? That 's just too incredible for me, he was a real good guy and he had a good mum and also he was religious, he even loved all religions... he just didn 't have the killing instinct, he was a human, he had even trouble killing a fish to survive, if it weren 't for the tiger he wouldn 't even had done that, he was a vegetarian... !

My family and friends told me to watch this movie. I usually like "dude films" with mindless action. I said whatever Ill watch it. At some parts I was looking for the kleenex and cried like a little bitch.

I cried when Richard Parker went off at the end. So sad. I don't think I've cried that much in any other movie.

This is a well-done movie trailer. It reveals almost nothing but pulls you in and makes you want to see the movie just to find out what it all means.

Audiomachine puts the soul in this trailer. I, who have no idea what this story was about, was on the verge of tears during the whale scene. Only choral music can be that powerful. I hope they made equally good selections for the movie itself and am very excited to go see this in IMAX 3D!
