(π) is the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. It is the same for all circles, regardless of size. Pi does not equal 22/7. The fraction 22/7 is only a convenient approximation. Its actual value is: 3.1415926535897932384626433832795028841971693993751… The digits go on and on forever, and never repeat or follow any pattern. It is known that π is an irrational number, so it cannot be represented by any fraction. It is also known to be a transcendental number, meaning that it is not the solution of any polynomial equation with integer coefficients. Although 22/7 is often used as an approximation for π, a better approximation is the fraction 355/113.

My father used to calculate in the mind and most of the time it will be correct or almost closest. I did Masters in Mathematics still now I rely on calculator and work sheets. Not sure how he studied, in those days but still he did Bachelors. I respect elderly people and they know much more than what we know with advanced science.

I remember my maths teacher Miss.Josephine Mary(as thatha)... She thought everything practically... Pythagoras theorem with titles.. Sector of a circle and rectangle area...with woolen thread.... Congruent and similarities... Incredible teacher.. She never solved the problems in board.. Rather made us to solve... No formulas were mugged up.. She taught derivation of those things . she had 4decades for experience Still I didn't forget the volume of cone is 1/3 of a cylinder with same radius and height.. Then another amazing science teacher... Miss.Rita... Our science class were under trees. No pictures should be stuck in notebooks for project... Everything should be drawn by hands..even if u draw worse u get an appreciation... And they were all government school teacher

C=2πr C/2r = π C/2r is always a constant, taking the circumference and radius of the same circle in each case. If we rearrange the equation we are working on, we come to know many things other than simply relying on the same method.
