My grandfather was from Nittedal. I've always wanted to visit Norway, but I am too old to go now. My daughter has been to his birthplace though, and has gone above the Arctic circle to see the Northern Lights. To live in a small Scandanavian village would be a dream for me since I am a simple person. I am from a cold state. I think winter makes people a little bit tougher and we appreciate spring so much more. Looking forward to seeing progress on your home.

What a sweet family!

Wish I had been born in Norway or the NL- either good for me. Then I could live in awe inspiring remote part of Norway. Wish I was handy too then I'd buy a rundown but glorious red or mustard yellow house and make it beautiful. But sadly I was born in a city in Canada and chose to leave it with my family to live on an overcrowded and tiny island- England. Sigh. My recent visit to Norway as far as Ålesund where I experienced the midnight sun made me realise anyone living in Norway is truly very, very lucky.

My Grandfather was Norwegian from Southcentral Norway. They were farmers. At the holidays we would make lefse and Lutefisk. We still make lefse, but I never acquired a taste for lutefisk. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. I hope to visit Norway someday.
