To this day I am very grateful for those who stood up for me, and I keep them in my prayers always in return for their kindness.

I hurt for my son who has Aspergers, he was bullied at school, we spoke to teachers and the principal and got nowhere; it got to the point where my husband and I went to the principal again and said that we were going to involve the police that they took notice, they found out that his whole class would surround him at lunch push ,hit, kick him until he lost his temper which they thought was funny. All my son wanted was to be 'normal' and excepted. He turns 23years old today, and he is as amazing as ever, he has learnt to stand up for himself, (though I am right there if he needs someone to lean on.) If you reading this are on the spectrum, let me point something out, I am now 53 years old and have never met a "normal' person, we are all so wonderfully unique, own it, own who you are and be the best version of yourself that you can be.

This story completely relates to me. I am about Sean's age and was diagnosed with Asperger's at age 1. However, I was happily not bullied very much although I felt very alone throughout school. I am lucky to be extremely well-coordinated and able to play sports at a very high level. But I can totally relate, because I still don't have very many friends. That doesn't really bother me though. As my mom always tells me, "There isn't any second of the day that you fail to surpass expectations."

BOY! Do I know what it's like! In elementary school, I was severely bullied! I was different. I was a loner and only had one or two chums. Today I found that I am in The Spectrum. This s why I have been outside of the workforce on a public stipend. It has not been a very fun life for me. I can't seem to get any of my dreams and projects off the ground, much which has to do with my contribution in fighting this Climate Emergency situation. But despite my 'disability' I am NOT a quitter, I am still trying to get my organisation 'ITEM' founded -- internationally an educational and promotional not-for-profit to promote transport (in all its forms) electrification as we MUST respect the dire need to STOP burning fossil-fuels! EVEN with ASD (the modern name for autism: Autism Spectrum Disorder. I cry a lot as a young male, as it IS frustrating and difficult to accomplish my goals! But DAMIT! At LEAST I am TRYING!!!
