JOSEPH'S MACHINES solve everyday problems using familiar objects in unfamiliar ways. He creates them in his apartment in Brooklyn, New York.

That's lovely! They accomplished quite a lot in a short time-frame. It must have been tonnes of fun working with him. And such a well-paced and understandable machine as a result. I'm running a Machines Club in the school I'm working at now (much younger children) and it's fun to see their minds at work, and to figure out how best to help them.

Ariel Llama yeah these were the hardest working group I’ve ever done a workshop with. And impressive teamwork considering they all spoke different languages! What age group are you working with Ariel?

Kids in Grades 3 - 6, so generally 9 to 12 years old. And they're only working for about 1 1/2 hours a week, not including clean-up time. So progress is painfully slow, but they're still quite motivated.

A little cheating at 2:06? (I'm pretty sure that pendulum should have hit the cardboard box. But when it falls the pendulum is nowhere near it. Unless there is a step in between I'm missing..)
