so what happens when this all comes crashing down in a catastrophic failure, and im not talking about hackers, im talking about extra terrestrial phenomenon like an X class solar flare that destroys and cripples a great majority of com & GPS satellites, disrupts if not destroys power grids via power surges that overwhelm the power grid, thus destroys power management systems, internet, almost all the smart systems, and their no manual over rides nor will people know how to manually operate a device of the age because they've become too adapted to a self managed system that requires little to no human input.
@Brandonhayhew9 жыл бұрын
If that such an event were to happend then people, then people of today must reduce their use on devices that operates everything
@Blockhead4429 жыл бұрын
were constantly being pushed,well more violently shoved, into believing that all these smart devices are an essential piece to our daily survival, with out them we cant pay for things, get the latest breaking news, monitor out heart rate, or whatever else there is. sure i have a iphone 4s, but thats the most tricked out smart gadgetry i own, and people will not know how to live off the resources that they already have without a device telling them how to use it.
@bergg20098 жыл бұрын
+Blockhead442 I can think that possible backup grids / systems will be in place. It is the same with owing 2 HDDs one for use and one for backup. Right now I see a good selling point is the health care. Of course not mentioning the real problems like financing, underpayment, understaffing, so how the current problems are going to be solved. Instead projecting only the customers view, because in the end it what is all about. Selling the product that has high potential market value and sales. Putting current infrastructure (including people) under pressure in the name of easy usability. I like your point on dependency. It reminds me of a slogan on a box of some meat menu, something about "bite sized". I like sci fi movies and I like the idea of moving forward. What I do not like is the dominant, overpowering strategies user friendly packaged.
@9gizzle6 жыл бұрын
Did you read his comment at all? Here I quote, " im talking about extra terrestrial phenomenon like an X class solar flare that destroys and cripples a great majority of com & GPS satellites". Ever heard of EMP? if not here is what wikipedia has on it: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electromagnetic_pulse. The idea +Blockhead is referring to is this sort of thing happening. In the case of a solar induced EMP what would you do when all electrical appliances are not longer able to function back up grip will itself need a back up lol. Technology is great but it should not displace basic human functions such to the point that we can not function without it. We may still need our cave man mentality at some point in that great technological future. I find it ironical that M$ still envisions a future with fossil fuel cars for a future piece that sucks!

I will earn some money, travel the world, and would like to live off the grid than living with constant notifications. I am already limiting my cell phone usages to 2 hours a day. Just watched this KZfaq video for my class. I have to comment on the horrible future and I am learning to code right now. I am not coding for home devices for sure, rather work for privacy management. Oh, why type writers are so much expensive? Lots of people are buying them. It's fun to write something without any cloud hacking into it.

Notifications are annoying! Automate, instead of notification. No eggs and rice, system should automatically order them and deliver. Forgot the fridge door open, it should physically close it. A self driving car, park from parking lot to meet you at the front door of your office building, and vice versa. No notifications please...

as far as i,m concerend the internet &' everything online..which apart from youtube, ebay & finding out things on google, i try to avoid & do it the propper way, because when you have very little interest in learning how to do things like internet banking, online shopping.paying bills etc etc, it is an absolute nightmare, everywhere you look..its online this & online that, just because you can do everything online dosen..t mean we have to or would want to & as for modern home equipment, if someone that lived 100yr ago came back & came in my home, they would recognise 99% of everything i own, inc open fire with oven to cook on etc, & as long as i..m here its staying as it is, i use a frying pan that my qreat-grandmother that died in 1917 used, & other things of that era too,
