What a special man, have been a fan of Snow Patrol for years since around 2005 but only really got to “know” Gary as a person through our shared experience of his kind and generous acoustic gigs that he gave us during lockdown. He truly is a beautiful spirit, so open and like others I have often found solace and so much joy from his beautiful lyrics and music. His music just sends me to a higher plain, I can’t wait for the release of the new album.

I am often critical of interviewers however this person did a great job, especially his ability to allow Gary to talk about his alcoholism and recovery. Fantastic interview. As an American living in NI, it really highlighted all in f the things I love about Norn’ Iron. It also put into focus the potential to change some of the more divisive issues. Gary also could not have been more down to Earth in person. He chatted away to each person he met. A true Ulsterman.
