I completely feel for you, and I am in the same boat. I developed CRPS 18 months ago. I still can’t see a specialist or get a pain team because of COVID-19 restrictions in New Zealand. I am glad you are able to get help from DR’s and infusions. Wish I could get infusions. Be careful of any future surgery it can make CRPS speed. Stay strong.

When I listened you, I had a feeling of few things. Firstly, I felt that of course when you change something so huge than rotation of your femur bones, rest of your body will have reaction and needs to adjust to the change. And it is not only joints, ligaments, but also muscles. It is huge change to all of them! All those little connection points where everything joins together is now needing to adjust. And it is happening above your hips to down to your toes. Half a body. And also your brain needed to adjust to the changes. Maybe that is part why you felt bad after surgery; because for *your body* it was HUGE surgery!!! It was like half of your body needed to be built again. And your body is having EDS. So yes, your body must been so exhausted over the task. Secondly, I felt that because your body had so hard time building half your body again, it started to mine the building material from the closest source; your lower legs. Your body thought that: "You weren't needing them", because you did not use them, but it went even further than the muscles wasting. I just felt that your body did not have enough resources to fix your body in any other way. I do not know your diet, it is probably super healthy already, but I would try to see into supplementation and having very healthy gut health so that your body would have the best possible changes of recovering better. My careful advice is: Go to a very good naturopath. They are not that expensive and they will tell you EXACTLY what your body is missing. It might be different form of healing that you have experienced before and it might take time to see any results, but I have met people whose long-term lime diseases have been cured. It is not a small feat. This is one excellent naturopath rhodakingston.com/ but she is not in UK. You could ask her a recommendation for somebody in UK. This would be supportive work while your doctors and surgeons do their magic. Sorry for my mammut size comment, but I just felt so strongly for you when I listened! I wanted to help even that I do not know if this is any helpful at all and maybe unsolicited advice is not always welcome, but sometimes I just FEEL through what has been happening and maybe, only maybe, this will give you your own true idea what has been going on. And that is most likely the correct one! So it is kind of worth of it if it helps you in any way. I wish you the very best and send you much love and healing! You are so strong and amazing woman!

I had seizures coming out of one of my hip surgeries (also EDS) and it ended up being a reaction to the IV morphine, specifically a preservative in it.

Sorry to hear you had seizures coming out of one of your surgeries. That's interesting to know it was due to the morphine. I'm allergic to morphine but was obviously given other medications, so who knows if one of those caused my seizures! I hope you're doing better now? xx

So sorry for the late reply - my health hasn't been very good over the last year or so unfortunately. Sorry to hear you've had CRPS for so long, and that you were accused of faking it before getting your diagnosis. I hope you're doing as well as possible at the moment and that the pain is manageable xxx
