I bought my Vitamix after 1. Watching a bajillion videos from lifeisnoyoke and 2. After a few years (yes, years) of research & trial and error with other brands. Nothing compares to a Vitamix. It’s worth the investment. From smoothies, to nut butters, to soups, to whole food juicing...I love it!

What would you recommend budget wise if you want to make nut butters, nut milks, and smoothies? I like my some grit to be in my smoothies too. So far the only one i really like is the dynapro dps1050a-b by tribest. I will shell out for the right one - it’s a plus i can get it for 20% off at bed bath and finance thru afterpay too. I bought the Nutribullet 3 years ago because it was under my budget. Knew nothing about vitamix at that time. All I felt was I don't need such a huge 64 oz container. My Nutribullet lasted for ~3 years because I was doing only the simple green smoothies while buying nut milks, nut butters from grocery stores. Never dared to blend anything tough in Nutribullet. Vitamix blends nuts so easily..! Even the green smoothies taste different in Vitamix. Nutribullet is no way closer to Vitamix.

I had (actually still have) an Oster and was fine for the occasional use (since I loathe cleaning it), but I need to eat more vegetables on orders from the cardiologist and nutritionist (heart attack... there’s that genetics thing again). The motor was starting to smell sometimes. I was going to get a Ninja, but first did some research (and a lot of KZfaq videos). Got the Vitamix E310 since I had a gift card to a department store. LOVE making smoothies in it (haven’t tried anything else yet). I’m already eyeing the personal S50 or S55 for when I travel.

I have had a nutribullet for 5 years or so, I have had to replace the blade base several times , it seems to come loose after using frozen fruit in smoothies and smoothie stars leaking through the other side of the base. I got a vitamix ascent 2500 A2500 last year but I haven't used it a ton. The nutribullet is easy for smoothies for one, much easier than in the vitamix when I have to use the vitamix tamper to move everything to the blades. I have used the vitamix for nut/cheese sauce and some soups and it is great for that and helps with plant based eating. I think I will always have both the nutribullet and vitamix. Love your videos and recipes!!

The original Nutribullet is actually pretty good for making smoothies despite being only 600 watts. I saw another KZfaqr point out it cannot deal with raspberry seeds. I can confirm that. Really sucks it cannot grind up raspberry or pomegranate seeds. I also have a older Hamilton Beach Rio commercial blender but it is only rated at 450 watt. So I just use that for blending soups or making dressing.

The best thing nutribullet did was change the way it attaches. I always had issues with the one that had to be inserted down vs the new top attachment. The plastic on the inside would stick. I was so careful not to spill and always wiped to no avail. I had the blue tooth and babied it and the one plastic still got stuck. So to get away from that feature I started looking at a different and easier attachment like on oster versa and ninja. Vitamix. Then I seen nutribullet had changed it also. I really like the nutribullet touch as it wont turn on unless the top is on! Also buttons are under that light up so if something should spill it won't go in the crevices. So now it's between nutribullet and oster versa and oster is a workhorse.

I get what you're saying about glass jars when it comes to Vitamin alternatives but I would still consider the Magimix Blender which does have a glass jar but it's no ordinary glass, it is Borosilicate which is super strong. From my experience, having used it for decades, I can say it is perfectly strong enough and despite putting boiling liquid straight from the pan into it, it has never suffered from thermal shock. It is strong!. The advantage it has over plastic is that it doesn't discolour over time nor does it hold smells. Some plastics don't like repeated use in the dishwasher whereas this still looks pristine after decades of being in the dishwasher. (I'm not affiliated in any way with Magimix)

Ok thanks, I know this video is a bit old now, an updated one would be interestiing. Yeah, getting a Breville The Q with a vacuum attachment, mostly making shakes and nowadays the jugs aren't glass, the Super Q is almost identical in construction and has a 10 year warranty, this is only warranty'd for 7 years but if they're willing to warranty the other one for 10 years, it will probably last a long time.

I LOVE my Nutribullet. I worked at restaurants and we used the 5200 all the time. So for a while, I wanted to get a Vitamix to use at home. But, I live in a small apartment, use my blender for small and medium (8-32 oz) portions of smoothies, soup, and sauces, and didn't want to spend that much. So I went for the Nutribullet. It just broke after using it daily for 5 years and I'm just gonna get another one. I have the budget for the Vitamix now but I still find the Nutribullet enough, maybe when I have kids I'll do the upgrade to accommodate for a more wide range of needs. All this to say, in my experience, you're giving great advice!

We actually bought a ninja but it was worse than our 10 year old black and decker so we had to return it. The blades are way too sharp and become dull very quickly. It wasn’t very powerful either and the tower of blades kept throwing everything to the sides of the pitcher. We managed to buy a vitamix e320 at Costco this Black Friday (2020) for a really good price so I recommend getting an explorian. They work just as good as the $700 vitamix blenders except they don’t have the extra features like a timer. All vitamix machines have the same power so if you don’t care about those features I’d really recommend getting an e310 or an e320 (only difference is that the e310 has a 48 oz pitcher while the e320 has a 64 oz pitcher).

I got an Oster, the beehive one or whatever, much to my dismay, I ended up returning it the same day I got it, the whole thing is stainless steel or some metal, but the ring where the container sits atop is made out of plastic to make it look like the whole thing is one piece, NOPE! After going back and forth a lot, I dove right in and got the Vitamix 7500, I live alone in my studio, on-campus but I figured it'd be useful after my remaining time here. I'm glad I did but seems the 7500 doesn't get much air time? But still, I don't regret it, it's a splurge (hey, I've got no vices!) but it's worth it, I've used it every day since I got it.

This comment of mine became...a lot longer than expected. o-o' So thanks for even glancing at it, lol. 💙 The Breville reminds me of a blender my mom had when she was younger that ended up shattering when my aunt/her sister tried to blend ice for something, but I digress. I really wish I'd come across your videos long before now. I purchased my big Ninja back when the J.J. Smith Green Smoothie book/diet was popular because my mom and I were going to try it out together. It did well but the keyword in "smoothie" is "smooth" which they were not, which meant that I could never really make smoothies that included seeds, nuts, celery, or mixed berries unless I wanted to chew and spit my way through it. I use it from time to time, but it sits on the shelf more often than not. This is why we got a Nutribullet Pro some time later. It does good work and gets the smoothies a lot smoother than my Ninja ever did; however, it becomes time-consuming when you have to make two smoothies instead of one big one to split between two people. It's also a problem when food gets under the gasket/rubber ring, which I was told wasn't supposed to come out, and starts to stink. I've gone through a few extractors because I had to use a toothpick to get the gasket out in order to clean it all, which sometimes lead to said gasket (a) tearing and (b) causing leaks due to slipping out of place and getting caught in the blades. Heck, I almost had to replace my entire blender because one of my replacements may've been defective and wouldn't spin easily. I thought it was because the gears may've been coated with old smoothie residue and were starting to struggle with the motor because of the burning rubber odor I was starting to smell (that and the horrid loud screeching whenever in use), but it was just the extractor being the problem because I used another replacement and everything worked fine. Still a loud device, but not mind-numbingly/ear-piercingly loud. Nonetheless, we have a brand new Nutribullet Pro sitting in the living room ready to go since I was expecting the poor thing to catch fire. Also, know that replacement gaskets are $2.99 each with free shipping while under warranty, and I've purchased at least 4 or 5... So now I'm looking for a blender that can make big batches of smoothies for two or more people, handle my mom's thiccccc smoothies when she gets a little too "nutrient happy" and adds everything in the kitchen to the cup, and be quieter so that I (a) won't have to clench my teeth in annoyance from the racket and (b) can actually hold conversation without lengthy pauses between blend sessions. A bonus is if my smoothies can actually look like those in the pictures and like what I get from a local Smoothie King. That's where my Vitamix research comes in and how I got here! Thanks to one of your (more recent?) videos and all of its helpful info and recommendations, I've decided to try aiming for an A2500 with the under blade accessory and (hopefully) a food processor attachment so I can let go of multiple bulky (basically brand new) appliances at once. I'll continue working with my NurtriYellit until I can find exactly what I'm looking for. It's 3:12AM and I feel like I lost track of thought at this point, lol. Night yall and thanks again for the video and help!

I've turned my friends & neighbors onto VitamIx used under $200 easy for a 5000. That's still much for some but My friends spend on many things they use less or get nothing out of. A $50 economy every 2-3 if luck or a quality 20yo gently used at $150 that'll last you a good 20-30 yrs more . You'd be surprised how many people got it new & barely ever used it til they moved & now it can be yours. A 40+ yo VitaMix could be leaps & bounds over a common department store variety. You really do get what you pay for. If new family, make sure it's on your wedding wish list. Hehe. I got my friends theirs like that.

I have a vitamix and also a Braun triforce powerblend which is a beast but superloud

I am just looking at a braun triforce powerblend 9 (is the powerblend 9 that you have?) as an alternative to a vitamix, because it says it can do all functions I want and also has the heat function for smooth hot soup. Do you have experience blending things thst tend to be tough to blend with it at all, please? Leafy greens, seeds, making nut or oat milk or nut butter, that kind of thing. How is it's ice crush function, can you blend frozen things dry or do you have to add liquid? I want to make smoothies and frappes with ice so they're like slushies, but I also want to make things like frozen smoothie bowls or snow bowls so I can add syrup/juice at the end and make snow cones. Sorry to ask you, but I haven't yet found any type of first hand account for these questions. I've seen a couple of reviews, but nothing past discussing the functions and making a couple of smoothies etc. Would you say it's a good vitamix alternativ? I would love a vitamix, but the cheapest in the UK are very expencive, about twice the price that they are in America. I just can't afford £450 on a blender at the moment, although I do realise it would be a one time life time purchase thing. Thank you 😁

Ive had a variety of blenders for 30 yrs. the WORST ones were the ninja ones, hands down, their rubber to steel drive mechanism ALWAYS eventually shredded the rubber and made a huge SCREECHING sound, got overheated, etc, lasted maybe a year, too big too clumsy and screeched out its deathcalls. the nutribullets also had early deaths via the wimpy blade/stud drive unit would become loose after a few months then leak contents INTO the motor, etc, very messy. the BEST MAIN blender ive had is the $99 Oster 1200 watt smoothie maker; it has an ALL STEEL DRIVE, has a central top twist add cap so u can add stuff while its blending; and makes incredible smoothies! they last years! I got a small 1 serving personal blender Starfrit $30 makes good small smoothies. I wd definitely get the Oster 1200 watt smoothie maker; great value; easy to use/wash/store, very reliable, makes great smoothies!

I've had a cheap no name $20 blender from walmart, a Oster single serve blender, a Ninja, and I currently have a Vitamix. The 20 dollar blender was fine. It was not a vitamix, but it was totally fine. The oster was also fine. The ninja is literally the worst blender I have ever come across though.

My sister was considering a Ninja bc she wanted the vitamix smoothies without the price tag.. I sent her some links from Blending with Henry, and after looking at his videos she decided to read the bad reviews online.. Everyone said they broke after 1 year.. Another story, when my husband and I where looking for small appliances for our first apartment, he was like "Let's get a Ninja, my brother and his wife have one, they are the best" I was like "Ninja blenders are NOT THE BEST, let ME show you the best blenders" lol

Bought a Breville Super Q about 2 years ago. Recently it went to Overload Protection, and the Reset Button does not work. Before this happened, I was extremely pleased with it's performance... But what am I to do now? Will never buy an expensive Blender again. Cost me USD $500 Plus high Taxes (almost as much as the cost of the Blender itself), to Clear at Customs.

Is it because you have to send it off to another country, why you don't make use of the 10 year warrenty? It might be cheaper than you think to get it shipped there.

I just bought a practically new super q from a guy for 260. I'm impressed with the initial quality. No warranty for second hand. I figure if it goes, it goes. In my life I have never made a warranty claim on ANYTHING, so I really don't care. Seems like more of woman thing. I don't have the patience. My sister has a Vitamix 5200. It works fine. I guess the q just spoke to me when I saw it. I wanted a little quieter than what Vitamix was offering.

Having had glass and plastic jars I much prefer glass. Never had one break yet. Quieter and easier to keep clean and lasts forever - well at least til the machine quits working. I also don't have to have perfectly smooth smoothies. Chunky adds interest. Just got a cheap Oster. Had one years ago and worked great and lasted about 10 years. Perhaps the new ones aren't as good. Enjoyed your review anyway, and at least have the option to return the cheap beehive Oster if I don't like it.

Too funny. I had bought a Breville (the smoothie one) which I picked up for a great price at a local store that was closing down, so it was half off. Still $110.00 (CDN not US) but as you stated it did get some good reviews so figured what the heck. Secretely, under the cover of darkness I was one of those who always watched the late night Vitamix ads on TV, and watched the demos in Costco, but honestly could not bring myself to being able to justify the cost. Even after listening to my sister in law talk about how much she loved her Vitamix. So the Breville did what I figured was a decent job for 10 months. That is when I came across the Vitamix Exlporia on Amazon this past Black Friday (2018) for $269.00 (CDN not US, and with warranty) so I figured what the heck, I'd bite the bullet. My wife refers to me as the kitchen gadget king, and she honestly thought I was throwing my money away on yet another latest and greatest. Little voice in the back of my head said "She might be right", First smoothie I made I knew she was wrong. There were no seed remanents floating around my breakfast smoothie. My wife figured it was the excitement of the new toy, She wasn't so fast to buy into my excitement so I did a side by side blend off making a breakfast smoothie that had pomagranite seeds in it. The Breville, while it made a decent smoothie did not pulverise the seeds. The vitamix, you could not tell there were any seeds used. Needless too say my wife now loves the Vitamix. I will say there is a deffinate learning curve to using it as it is not a simple blender, but more of a processor. Take the time to learn to use it and you will see the benefits and it will not be a decission that you request. Of course this is just my humble opinion. Having said that, if a blender is something you use once in a blue moon, it probably is overkill and there are better lower priced alternatives that will work fine..

Just get a refurbished vitamix. They give you a brand new container. These machines are usually from state fairs and other demo places. I've had one for ten years and it's still as good as new. I have the Vitamix Ascent 2300 and regret the purchase--because I lose between 20-30% of my ingredients to this awful 64 oz container (and lid!), which I was forced to purchase, even though I would have prefered the 48 oz stainless steel version, and spend way too much time cleaning it. I won't purchase another blender, which doesn''t allow me to remove the blade for cleaning. IF that means I won't be able to grind grains into flour anymore, then I will have to consider adding a grain mill. I have considered the small cup and bowl, but they are getting really bad reviews, so I think I would be better off giving something like The Beast a try. If the Nutribullet only lasts a year, that keeps it from being an option.

The worse one ever was the Montel Williams Healthmaster. (It is now called the Shred blender ) I chose that one over the Vitamix, because it was a lot cheaper. What a mistake, after replacing leaky containers 5 times, the motor smelt like oil and burning plastic. I just took the plunge and bought a Vitamix 5200, charging it to my Visa card. It is now almost nine years later, and it still purrs like a kitten. I just recently replaced the container with a new one. Couldn't be happier. Thank you for your review! I agree, the Nutribullet is a great entry level way to be introduced to smoothies, cause once you get started, you'll never go back to bottled juices again.
