Lifeline was a pro-labor, anti-nuclear feminist rock band from Washington, D.C. that played at political demonstrations, women's music festivals, conferences, and labor events as well as on the traditional club circuit. Founded by Mary Trevor (guitar/vocals), Kris Koth (bass), and Jeanne Mackey (guitar/vocals) in 1982, the band added Rochelle "Shelly" Locanto at some point after this 1985 12" E.P. Lifeline continued until 1991. In addition to this vinyl release there is at least one earlier, cassette-only recording.
"Never Stop" opens with a great version of The Motels' "Monday Shutdown" followed by a medley of two Jimmy Cliff songs with "You Can Get It If You Really Want" adapted to "You Can Get It If You Organize." It is on the B-side of the record where we get the devastating Mary Trevor original, "I Coulda Loved You." I'll let the music take it from here.
Thanks to Jeanne Mackey for permission to post this song and for background information.
