Lifetime Ban on LFM? One TROLL Ruins It For Everyone

Жыл бұрынI don’t normally make a habit of naming and shaming anyone on this channel, but the actions of one driver in my latest Low Fuel Motorsport race on rFactor 2 has left my blood BOILING.
And I won’t be the only one. The majority of the people on the grid had their qualifying or race ruined by this individual, who clearly only had one intention from the outset - to troll the lobby.
This is the WORST and most disgraceful example of sim racing I’ve ever seen. In fact, we can’t even call it sim racing. I know what I’d like to call it, but it would probably get my channel banned.

UPDATE: This driver has now been given a permanent ban from Low Fuel Motorsport. Full respect to LFM - they’ve acted really swiftly to investigate this. The whole protest system on LFM really is very thorough, and the team are doing an excellent job in their attempt to maintain good driving standards for us all. Yeah, I never thought I’d ever make a video where I called for a lifetime ban 🤣 I’ve seen deliberate acts of revenge before, but against one person. This was against anybody and everybody! Only consolation is that most of it happened before the race started. No consolation to the few who got wrecked on the start line though. Really disappointing!

Based on these actions, there is no way he feels any shame. He doesn't belong in the community and everyone would be much better off without him in it. If he can't be named to other drivers, hopefully racing control will pass on his name to other controllers for a community-wide ban.

Yeah, there’s never an airtight way, sadly, as they can always create other profiles and things. But thankfully this type of incident is quite rare. Couldn’t believe what I was watching when I fired up the replay!

Oh dear! Not much I can add beyond the video and comments here, but am I right in thinking that in iRacing he’d have been disqualified in qualifying? Could LFM introduce an incident limit for quali sessions so at least he wouldn’t have been able to wreck as many races?

Absolutely would have an been an iRacing DQ! I’m not sure if the incident points carry over from session to session in rf2 / LFM like they do in iRacing. Certainly would have helped with this one though!

Seen this kind of shithousery before in an AC open lobby. A driver deliberately going the wrong way around a track and looking for head on smashes. And admitting to finding it funny. I wonder how funny he'd have found it if any of us had tracked him down and punched him in the face?

Totally, it’s just such a pointless and unnecessary thing to do. I guess we shouldn’t really be surprised, seeing how so many people seem to behave on social media and other online places these days. Very sad.

Thankfully this type of thing is VERY rare! I’ve been doing it a couple of years now, and this is the worst I’ve seen. So don’t let it put you off! 😃

Scumbag drivers behaving this way should definitely be banned a minimum of a year. The more we race as if we're actually in the car (where real injury consequences exist) the better racing respect will be. Thanks Chris!

Good shout. I’m not sure if there’s a function to vote to kick someone in rF2. There certainly is in AMS2. It would be helpful in situations like this.

Yeah, I think the only reason I remained reasonably calm was because the worst of it happened in qualifying for me. That’s no consolation to the guys on the grid he ploughed into though! But for me, luckily I was just far enough in front to miss it, and managed to get a race in. But yeah, not great at all.

I am the red car on the right at 3:05... I have been so lucky ! I met this guy a few times in this category ruining other drivers race.... I don't understand this behaviour + you loose SR/ELO because of another guy ! I may be not the best simracer but I am doing my best to respect everyone race on the track !

Wow. I have never seen anything like that before, even in public lobbies (I've been lucky?). What gets me though, is that to race on LFM, you have to pass a reasonably strict test to get your first license. So the guy knows how to drive properly, unless his account got hacked of course! Defo a lifetime ban is due though, for sure.

Well, LFM membership is done via Steam ID, so you’d need to create a new Steam account to a different email address. And if you do that, you would have to buy the game again. I expect there are ways to transfer it over though. But hopefully, it’s a few extra steps that would put people off doing that 🤞

Sadly we see this in every sim when there is ranking. Not only sims but games in general. There is a subset of "humans" that enjoy spoiling others fun. Same with cheaters, we will always til the end of time wonder whats going on in their brain, and that is why. We assume they have one.

What a disgrace to simracing! But Chris, how many free fast repairs does someone get? What the hell is this? In iracing you would get away with this a max of 2 times and only once in series with no fast repairs. Is RF2 stupid? It does not excuse his behavior but the reason iracing has no fast repairs after D class or a max of 1 fast repair is too prevent this shit. And i know you mention your sim racing time as your time is limited, honestly just play iracing it regardless of what people say it does have the cleanest racing and an extensive rule set and code.

Yeah, in qualifying you can just reset to the garage, and go straight back out again if you’re damaged. Real shame, as this guy should never have been allowed to get anywhere near the grid for the start of the race. I was just starting to get back into iRacing, driving that Ferrari GT3. Will definitely be doing more of it next season.

Would be cool if you make a video of the protest like tutorial since to send in a protest is not so easy. Not to protest all the time but since racing since 4months on lfm I would have done it in 2 cases but due to all requirements I just dropp it, should btw be more easy to protest since this should be a "non contact" sport. Racing is to fight clean and we all love when 3 cars in the wide fighting and everybody comes through, that whats all about.

Ahh that’s a great idea actually. I did think while I was doing it, that I’d probably be put off submitting it if I wasn’t used to making videos with KZfaq. I get why it needs to be thorough, to stop them being bombarded with pointless protests. But see how it could be off putting for someone who doesn’t make videos regularly. I’ll see what I can do 👍

Looks like you absolutely got the worst crash - how does it feel to be the lucky chosen one? 😂 In hindsight, this could have gone so much worse; given his deliberate attempts at taking people out, it’s impressive that only a couple of drivers were affected on the starting grid…

Man, what a jerk. I have not had this happen to me yet. But I have heard many horror stories about people like him. I am glad he got DQ'ed. Surprised he didn't go right to the front of the grid and then park it at the start of T1. Most likely, he knew there were some You Tubers on the grid and wants to get his name out there. I am glad you never showed it. Blur it in your video when you make it of this race.

Jeez yeah, that would have been so much worse. He didn’t seem the brightest though… couldn’t even wreck stationary cars on the grid properly! Definitely won’t feature his name, I only usually show the top 15 on screen, as it fits better, and he was well below the top 15 😃

Yeah, it’s the one thing that really gets me angry. Being taken out by people making mistakes, that’s fine - it happens, it’s racing. But someone deliberately ruining a race for their own amusement… makes my blood boil!!

@@Marnie_Racing It’s unimaginable, isn’t it? Happening more and more in gaming, and just generally on social media etc. The only blessing here was that he decided to do most of the damage in qualifying. Once he’d been DQ’d, we were able to have a really good race. Just a shame not everybody was able to start it without damage.

Haha. Whenever I find myself getting annoyed, I always try to remind myself that I’m a middle-aged man getting cross at a computer game 🤣 But games by their very nature are meant to be fun, escapism. So it’s frustrating when I hop into a game to escape those people in the real world who annoy me, just for 20mins or so, only to find them in my game too!

It may be just a game; but this is more a reflection of bad basic human behaviour. Someone deliberately trying to spoil the enjoyment of others with toxic behaviour. People invest a lot of time and money into their hobby. People who deliberately set out to spoil it should be removed. Imagine if you were playing football or tennis and someone deliberately ran onto the court or the pitch and ruined your game? Would you just say ‘oh well, it’s just a game’ or would you feel aggrieved that they deliberately ruined your enjoyment?

Yeah, I totally understand that view, and I was in two minds about sharing it. After all, by reacting to trolls, you’re only giving them oxygen. However this one was all so absurd, I’ve never seen anything like it. So I knew a lot of people would want to see it. Hopefully, by not naming the guy, I’ve in some way limited the notoriety he clearly seeks 🤞
