The mat itself does absorb a lot of water and helps during hot yoga. The mat becomes minimally slippery during heavy sweating. Awesome mat and good bag too, solid construction!

I bought this mat recently and it is worth every penny. I had a cheap Gaiam yoga mat and began slipping, causing my wrists to hurt while trying to transition from several poses to others. That worried me, so I asked several instructors which mat I should buy. Several had only Manduka and liked it, but one had both Manduka and Liforme and recommended Liforme because she started slipping on the Manduka and decided to switch to Liforme. After using this mat, my wrists barely hurt and I grip the mat very easily. As for any odor, it had a very faint/hard-to-tell smell to it when my face was on it during a practice. I did notice my sweat was being absorbed almost instantly because I tried to wipe it off, but some was already absorbed into the mat. This is probably what helps keep me from slipping though, which I don’t mind. Overall, I like my new investment.

Hi Brett, great video. Please let me know if this mat has a strong rubber smell and if, so what did you do to get rid of it and how long did it take for the smell to finally dissipate? Please let me know as I would like to buy this mat, but it is so expensive, that I don't want to be stuck with a smelly mat. I just returned the Lululemon 5mm Reversable Mat, (which was great for its "grippyness"), because even after cleaning it with baking soda and water for a week (as suggested by Lulu), the rubber smell would not dissipate and it was so bad, that I was about to puke on it in my yoga class. Even my yoga classmate next to me could smell it. It was so embarassing. Please reply back in full. Thanks in advance.

I've just discovered your channel and I am already obsessed :) I was looking for a new yoga mat and after watching your different reviews, I can't decide between the Yoga Design Lab and the Liforme Yoga mat. I live in the south of France where it gets really hot in the summer (I can sweat a lot), and since I practice Yoga everyday, I was wondering if you could help me choose. Thank you very much!

hi Brett, I have just bought the liforme travel mat. unfortunately I'm not in love with it as i expected, maybe u could offer some advice? I have 3 main issues with it: 1. while it's meant to be thin I don't find the material supportive at all, in fact it's painful for my knees and I've never experienced this with any other yoga mat before. I've tried this on top of another mat but it doesn't lie flat, it sort of 'ripples' on top. 2. the alignment cues seem to be for taller people I suspect. I have been practising for a few years so flexibility isn't an issue, but using the alignment cues make me too far stretched, to the point of losing balance 3. while the mat is very grippy as it should be, I find it hard to transition between yoga poses, getting 'stuck' rather than being able to move easily. also because of this I'm unable to get deeper in poses e.g. in king pigeon, I get stuck rather than being able to shift slightly to get more comfortable / deeper. please could you help as I've been looking forward to this mat for so long and now I'm just so disappointed. if I don't get to use it, because of the knee pain, it will just be a waste :(

Hi, Brett! Thank you for your great review! Is it possible that you try and give your opinion about some other products? I am interested in BYoga mat, LiquidBalance Yoga Mat, Alo warrior mat, affirmats. I am having Jade Harmony but I really need a one more mat for change. And one more question about Liforme - I've heard that it becomes slippery after a year of use or sooner - what was your experience?

Sounds like my dream mat! Thankyou so much for reviewing!! Since it absorbs liquid so fast, do you think that maybe it absorbs bacteria that way too? Hopefully not.

+Jen M according to the booklet that comes with the mat, it says that the mat is designed to be hygienic, so you dont need to clean it more than once every 5-10 uses :)

+Jana I *think* what they sent me is the travel version (trying to confirm) and it is spacious enough for me! Both come with a mat bag so we're good there :)

How about the the grip while dry? I live in a dry climate and sometimes my hands are dry as a sheet of paper and some mats slip under my hands.

Any who's been using this for 1-2+ years? I read its only good for 300-500 practices. How does it hold up after a while of using. For its price I would hope itd last longer

Have this mat for over 4 years now. Use it 3-4 times a week and it is holding up beautifully. The usage shows on the top where the hands and feet are comming in contact with the mat. Il looks like a faint smudge on the mat. The bottom is intact, no fraying on the sides. I have seen some fraying on the sides on mats that are older then mine and were not kept in the bag. Cleaning with a mixture of very small ammount of gentle dish soap and water will clean it nicelly. I have several other famous brand mats, but this is what I use every day, I have a personal relationship with, honestly love my mat!

Many great points about this map. The alignment Lines actually makes this a non buy for me. Constantly breaking concentration noticing that you're of a bit from some line to make completely unnecessary adjustments.. And I wouldn't use an absorbing mat in hot yoga, it's a hassle to get the sweat back out. Otherwise is seems like great premium mat.

it looks so smooth! i have a codependent relationshp to my jade mat. bought a manduka eko and while it was nice, for hot yoga i didn't feel as confident in my poses and really found myself missing the jade. does it REALLY have as much traction as the jade?

+Nicole Tay i have it and it's really good. it has good cushioning.. although at first, it felt thinner than my walmart mat haha but i got used to it in a week. I clean it with water and soap. One of the cons, in my opinion, is that it gets dirty very fast.. i sweat A LOT and i have to leave it opened so it gets dry. But afterwards, it has some sweat stains that I can't get off :/

@@arlenevaldepenas7941 hi! yes i do. I have mixed feelings about it. I got my first one 4 years ago in pink. At first, very good grip. However, after maybe 1 year, the mat starts to rip in some places (like hands and feet) to the point where my hands and feet have small pieces of pink residue. Also, it might smell funny after some time (I always let it out in the open after practice, but still), and weirdly.. it became slippery (I dont know why), so I had to spray water on it before every use. 2 years after, I bought the purple one because I loved the color. However all the same stuff that I described with the pink one, happened with the purple one too. I also have a Manduka pro, which I also like very much, but I have to use a hand towel ( I sweat a lot). So sometimes I use maduka other times I use Liforme. I think that comparing price and durability, I would go for Manduka pro (which has a lifetime guarantee) . Liforme is nice, but like I said, after 2 years, it deteriorated a lot. I don't know if this is because of the way I practice (I do vinyasa and ashtanga on it) or what, but I still like it, specially on hot days. However, is not that affordable and the quality decreases considerably after 2 years (which doesn't happen with manduka)
