Amazing . Only a select few could afford to do this . They do water skiing in #salcombe , Devon. Maybe the holiday makers there might be able to afford to do that ? I worked in Salcombe on work experience in 1995. I got to try Water skiing ! It was cool, but, I could not do it. I still remember the guy shouting: "YOU GOT TO STAND UP!"

Awesome, just need a price point that is much more reasonable. I think if you were in the $4K and under range you'd get tons of buyers.

I heard you can use the efoil by pumping with the board, great exercise and no battery loss

You can actually change the propeller for a folding one, catch a wave or a roller and release the throttle ;) Pumping can only work with a regular surf foil. Pumping has almost no effect on an efoil because of its weight.

I have a question. Can an efoil be turned into a regular manual foil by just taking off the motor part or are they completely two different kinds of boards?

Price point way too high, getting back start up investment quickest way starts with getting them out there, being seen & have people wanting one, but at this cost it will take forever to recover initial investment ... take a lower profit, drop price to where the average Joe an consider one & you will be away. Stay too costly for the main target group of fun seekers & it will take forever to get it out there and known .... $12k US kills it for anyone else, especially here in Australia as exchange rate is sad. 70c so costs 30% more.

Very accurate estimate. Especially with the advent of wings/wing-foiling.l, which is way cheaper plus involves a bit more skill/challenge/progression

These prices are absolutely crazy. $12,000 or more in the US. 15,000+ dollars in Canada. How are these so expensive? There is nowhere near $15,000 worth of materials here in the board. At this price point you would be better off buying a high-end used jet ski or even a decent little boat. I love the idea and I do not like bashing companies. As this is one of the coolest things I've ever seen. And I was very interested. But at that price point I would rather have a jet ski or a boat. As other people said. I think the price is going to kill the sales and ultimately maybe the company, you guys need to have more cheaper options for people and you would probably do very good and get lots of sales for that if it was cheaper. I could afford this price currently, but I just won't do it because I cannot justify 15 grand for it

Yea, 15 grand is a little over the top. There's cheaper options out there, I think I saw some starting at 8k. But nevertheless, there's expensive equipment in there. I built one myself recently and I'm somewhere between 1500-2000€ in electronics, material and the pre made wing. And that was the cheapest I could go with it being usable in the end, there was a lot of China stuff involved and the board is considerably less powerfull than the commercial ones. With more European sourcing, I could probably put another 1000 ontop of the material bill. Maybe with time progressing and more brands putting out e foils, there's going to be even cheaper options.

yeah, it's like the Segway, was super expensive at the beginning (low production), then Chinese copies made it to the market and it went down 4 fold eventually. Then electric scooters appeared making it even more affordable... just be patient, you're always paying more for being an early adopter.

Ok I thought the same at first but my daughter takes wakeboarding lessons at $200 per hour. The boat that pulls her is a 230k ski nautique. Honestly I’m thinking these are worth it IF THEY LAST?!

@@NukemNak that was some boards from last year. A batch went out of the factory with a bad metal blend. This is all fixed now. New 2021 boards are silent and don't break. There is also a big difference between those who got their Waydoo from kickstarter back in 2020 at a low price.. and those who got their Waydoo from a local dealer in 2021..

The Chinese will come out with a version for under 1/4 of the cost. You can buy a decent new sea doo or jetski for $6,000. And they expect me to pay $12,000 (double) for this?!?! No thanks. Look how much more you get with a jetski. This is just an insane profit grab.

@@neskomen80 Jet skis are fun. To deny that is wrong - PERIOD. If you want it more challenging get the stand up kind of jetski - PERIOD. You can't go nearly as fast on these so you won't get that same rush that comes with the speed - PERIOD. You can't do the dramatic and fun types of turns on these and rocket out of the pocket like you can with a jetski - PERIOD. Know what really annoys me - people who don't know how to debate an issue do they just say "period" as if that does anything to back up their point - PERIOD! Now go fuck yourself - PERIOD.

Cool idea, thanks for bringing it to life for more reasonable people to copy and sell cheaper. Probably bet that some DIY videos will pop up. You know, I like this idea and I'm sure the majority agree with me but the hilarity begins when you think that $12,000 is a reasonable price tag for this. A foreign company is going to come along and do it cheaper, for the same quality. History is the proof. Sucks you were greedy my friend.
