You'll notice that with the Wrangler the front end and the back end slid because both the front and the back are solid axle but then with the 4Runner only the back end slid because the front end is independent suspension. Having traction on one side affect traction on the other side(which is the disadvantage of a solid axle)... It's quite a big deal for obstacles like this. My Jeep doesn't have much flex but it does have four wheel independent suspension and for obstacles that are really slick like this I think it does better.

I have an 01 tj and 07 4runner. The Jeep is way more capable than the 4runner. To fit 35” tires on the runner would take twice modifications the Jeep needed. That being said, the runner is way more comfortable as I’m not driving around in a tent. It can also tow the Jeep because of the v8 and 7000 lb tow capacity. Disingenuous videos like this that show someone with and with out experience is bs. I doubt that’s even the same obstacle. I’d rather take the 4runner camping, but if I’m there to wheel, it’s the Jeep all day. Also, I bought front and rear bumpers and rock sliders for the Jeep for what just the rear bumper cost on the 4runner.

In this case is driver error, I drive a 2WD Ram and I don't get stuck on snow, is all about handling the torque and momentum.

Y'all swing from the balls of a brand too hard. Why can't people just enjoy off roading. I bought a new Tacoma in 2005 and a new tundra in 2019. Both were amazing vehicles. I also had a 1975 cj5 and now a 1995 Wrangler that were amazing vehicles. My tundra was a great 4wd. Took me a lot of places effortlessly. My Tacoma took me to North Carolina and back 4 times through the ice and winter weather. My cj5 was my first car i drove it throughout the woods of the Northwest and made me love off roading. My 1995 Wrangler is my current vehicle because i wanted cheap, simple, and reliable. Lightly modded 2.5 inch lift and 30 inch tires. Little 2.5L engine. Would i own another Toyota hell yes. I've got my eyes on a 1985 Toyota pickup and my neighbor has a 4runner with a removable top that's been sitting there for years I've been wanting to ask about. Just smile because you're off road with people who also love the off road and turn your anger toward the politicians taking away our off road areas and limiting our modifications on our rigs.🤙

That's the difference between knowing what you are doing and not knowing. Jeep looked like he should have aired down those tires. What tires you are running makes a difference too. That jeeps tires were pretty caked with mud.

It's actually about the width of the tires too skinny rear tire on the 4Runner on a slippery or material put more contact pressure of the vehicle versus the big Jeep on wide tires couldn't put enough contact pressure to pull itself forward

Looks like a 2022 model so 9.6" of ground clearance with 265/70R17 tires if my guess is correct

It's about knowing how to read the terrain but what really made the difference is the 4Runners 4x4 slip differential when the Jeep has a reg 4 by.

Yes, if you wheel spin and bounce like the Jeep did. Get the proper gearing and lockers if you plan to do any kind of off-roading that's not a fire road.
