Loved it, explained very well without complicating things. Do you plan on rendering the car with car paint materials with an environment backdrop like a parking lot or something maybe a night environment. Please do, that would be nice to learn. You have one more subscriber :)

In terms of the car, making your backdrop surface a different color or material texture can be make or break. White on White is a hard sell, always, especially when using a light set up that was designed for showroom level cars with paint that has specular and clearcoat. The gun is a perfect example!
@OnMars3D
@OnMars3D 2 жыл бұрын
Agreed, just wanted to show a couple different examples. Having contrast between the model and backdrop is crucial for a nice render.

So in some of your reference images, the ground was textured. Do you know if that's achieved by simply throwing on a roughness map? And secondly, do you ever turn shadows off on any of your lights? Or do you leave them all on every time?
@OnMars3D
@OnMars3D 2 жыл бұрын
For the ground material, you can apply a roughness map to get a nice pattern. A procedural noise pattern would work well. For the lights, correct, I always leave the shadows on for every light. Because the key light is the most intense, it will over power the less intense lights and because of the softness of the shadows, they'll blend together without causing multiple distracting shadows.

31:09 what do you mean with "physical camera exposure"? Like an emulation of camera settings or light intensity values or both?
@OnMars3D
@OnMars3D 2 жыл бұрын
Exactly, you can impact the exposure by altering traditional physical camera settings on the 3D cameras in render engines like Arnold and V-Ray (F-stop/number, ISO, shutter, etc).
