Yet not convinced..in fact LA is never connected electrically to the system while Surge arrestor is a part of system..anyway good platform for such discussions..please keep it up..you are doing good work 👍

Can surge arrestors be connected in swithyard in place of Lightning arrestors as switching occurs Due to isolators too so surge can be produced too over there...and also can you make video about LILO system

Sir if surge arrester use as a lighting arrester (you speak in vedio time 5:10) so, surge arrester also called indoor,outdoor combined device (but you speak vedio time1:00 surge arrester indoor device ). why diffrent statements in vedio please clear my dought thank you.

Lightning Arrestors: 1) Installed outdoors in the highest point. 2) Protects only against lightning surges 3) Directs the lightning surge energy to the ground Surge Arrestors: 1) Installed indoors such as in pannels. 2) Also protects against surges due to faults in the system such as short circuit faults. 3) Contains a resistor that absorbs the surge heat energy and guides the rest of the extra surge energy to the ground.

Lightning arrester is not connected with line conductors as Surge arresters.Lightning arresters are always connected to Earth. Surge arresters are installed in each phase of circuit and always connected to lines. Lightning arresters are connected out of lines and mostly not for each phases.
