Any time you lessen weight you improve performance. 6lbs. per wheel doesn’t sound like much, but when the wheel is in motion you are greatly reducing rotational mass as well. Your car should also feel somewhat more responsive to steering inputs with lighter wheels and less rotational mass. With all that said it ultimately comes down to what you want. These performance differences will mean more on the track than real world everyday driving. In real world driving the performance differences will be less relevant.

My autocross race wheels are light weight 17 inch, which also drop the car down as they are mounted with light weight narrower diameter tires too. You can really feel the difference when you hit second gear.
