Lijiang hands down my favorite town in China. Perfect place to explore surrounding area, many traditional villages to explore, people are simply the friendliest !!

Unfortunately you guys didn’t climb to the top, it’s stunning up there. There’s actually cable car that takes you all the way up in the snowy tops and it’s the world’s highest cableway.

Lijiang is a place for leisure. People from many big cities in China go to Lijiang and Dali to relax. I miss two foods in Lijiang. One is the cured pork ribs hotpot（腊排骨火锅）, which is the traditional hotpot of the Naxi minority and is very delicious. The other is the chicken bean jelly（鸡豆凉粉）, which is a bean product. It seems to have no taste, but the more you eat it, the more addictive it is.

You guys haven’t even seen 10% of China yet! After you visit xinjiang, Tibet, Qinghai, you will see some really beautiful places. Keep up the good work! And your Chinese have improved significantly!

In Sichuan province , there is a place called jiuzhaigou, jiuzhai valley national park, the water lake there is even more colourful

Lijiang is the starting point for you to discover the beauty of southwest China, but it is not the end. There are many stunning scenery in western Sichuan, which is as beautiful as Switzerland. For example, Daocheng Yading, Lugu Lake, Milk Sea, etc. The scenery there is like heaven.

Lijiang Old Town is beautiful, went there 3 years ago. The Snow Mountain gave me really bad altitude sickness. Dali too is very beautiful.

You guys should come here to experience Tibetan culture here without a permit to go Tibet, and also see the beautiful snow mountain here which is the highest mountain in Yunnan at 6880m that no one has ever set foot on the top. I highly recommend visiting Dunhuang in Gansu. In my opinion, 《又见敦煌》 is more moving and heart-wrenching than《印象丽江》

There is another cable car that goes to the glacier at the top, but you need to make a reservation online, which requires you to read Chinese and have a local phone number.

Your next destination should be Jiuzhaigo, Zhangjiajie and Yangshuo in Guilin. Guilin is nearer to Kunming. All these places have beautiful scenery. Zhangjiajie has Avatar mountains, Jiuzhaigo has lakes like what you saw in Kunming, probably more beautiful. One of the Hong Kong movie was filmed here. Yangshuo has both beautiful lakes and mountains. Watch Zhangjiajie in the channel, Sun Kissed Bucket List. The KZfaqrs from this channel is from the UK. Another channel that you should watch is Flora and Note. They went to one of the beautiful village in China. Have a nice trip and enjoy your journey.

The most beautiful water in China is in Jiuzhaigou Valley and the most beautiful mountains in China is Yellow mountain.

A few of the trees along the boardwalk there are 500 years old cedars. Usually old trees will have a red info plate tied to the trunk to indicate the age. We were there last Dec. You are lucky it is sunny. We couldn't see far due to the weather.

If I remember correctly, there are three cableways in Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. I guess you went to the lowest altitude section.

That kind of glacial lakes can also be seen in British Columbia, near Whistler Mountain.

I have always wanted to travel yunnan and xinjiang, but I came to Europe first. My sister told me that the Alps view I got in Dolomitie is absolutely the same as xinjiang. A fun dupe to know lol. 😂 now I know I would love xinjiang before I go… Maybe I should visit the Scottish high lands first before I come back home and visit yunnan.

The most expensive ticket is for the main mountain cable car, and it's nearly impossible to book during national holidays because there are so many travelers, LOL.
