India's first Sufi Rap brings together Alif's signature Sufi ethnic rock sound with Kashmiri rapper MC Kash's strong lyrics and hip hop beats. The word Sufi carries with it a mystic element. Like A Sufi aims to capture that mysticism, the feeling of being lost in the search for truth. Sung in Kashmiri (or Kosur), a language spoken primarily in the valley of Kashmir and Chenab, the song is an attempt to save this dying language.
For centuries, Sufism, the inner mystical dimension of Islam, has enraptured its followers while fascinating non-believers. It effortlessly combines the meditative calmness of pure devotion with the ecstatic passion of soul-stirring music. 101Sufi is a story of both the present and the past. Modern Sufi music is presented through a series of collaborations, journeys and documentaries. The genre’s history is discovered by creating contemporary portraits of the greatest Sufi poets and scholars.

I don’t think he really cares for what the media does or doesn’t do for him. It’s we people who could make him a super star if we all agree with his thoughts. It’s not easy for many to relate. We have seen everything, we know what we’ve seen. But someone living in Bombay will never be able to relate. So what’s the bottom line? It means first the people needed to find a common footing before we could have marched towards anything.

This track brings alive the current reality of the continued 46 day curfew since 8thJuly, 2016 in the Kashmir valley when a popular militant leader Burhan Muzaffar Wani was killed by the Indian security forces during an encounter.

If a children in a family could not speak that does not mean he can't understand the way for survival, if our books are in Sanskrit, those are also dedicated to one God, ishwar in Sanskrit and Allah in Arabic. when every thing is same, why there is hatreness, where is difference. we people got migrated since 90's and I was hardly 4 . But I feel mercy of almighty Allah remained with us in every aspect that in so harsh conditions we continued education (ilam) and got exposure to interact overseas. I respect Islam also, because if we go in depth about Islam, it inspires us to follow humanity and to pray to almighty Allah itself. Hazrat pak (s.a.w) also guided the coming generation to act as a human not as a religious person.

Muneem's voice is hauntingly beautiful and his band plays superbly. Don't understand the Kashmiri lyrics but even then, it's mesmerizing and the rap is pretty cool. Can't wait for their next song, though it'll be hard to outdo this one.

great work.. It's super awesome and entertaining.. The way this song has been picturised is beyond description. It shows the great beauty of Kashmir.
