Why Ed Harcourt didn't get more recognition for writing this theme song to "Like Sunday, LIke Rain," I will never understand. This is arguably one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written.

My mother passed away in 2016 and the night she passed I was awoken from a dead sleep to this song on the tv !! I truly felt that it was her telling me she loved me and that everything was alright!! I found musicians who could play this at her funeral mass.. it was BEAUTIFUL!! I miss her tremendously.. and everytime I hear this song it gives me peace that someday we will be reunited and won’t carry the worries we have in this life!

I cannot stop listening to this. It is like heaven to my ears, and only makes us listeners feel placid. The movie has made a mark in my mind, I will always remember it and keep watching it. It is unbelievable that this wasn't shown more to the public, it's the simplest and most heart warming movie ever. I love the movie and this song so much.

I don’t know how many time I’ve watched this movie or listened to this composition. From the title, to the weaving progression of this gorgeous melody to the loneliness, longing and deep connection between them. It touches a part of me that relates to all of it. Exceptional people have a very hard time to find reciprocity on a deep and fulfilling level. This entire story is such an exquisite gut shot. ♥️

This movies showed such raw love between not a boy and women, but two souls. It was very strong and emotional and when the end credits appeared on my screen I was disappointed it wasn't longer! Haha I would absolutely love a sequel with the same main characters. Julian Shatkin is an amazing actor to be so young and I hope to see him in more films. 10 out of 10 for me.

+Ally Hicks I couldn't agree more! I was very pleased with Julian's performance. And to think this is only his film debut! This kid is going places wow. I was sad too when the film ended like that. I don't think Frank Whaley does sequels and this film doesn't have enough audience to voice out one but I agree that it deserves a second movie. Maybe in a few years hehe when Julian looks a lot older.. :D I know I wrote my own version of an ending.

I have watched this film many times and every time I do, I end in tears, brought on by this very sensitively presented depiction of a loving relationship between a young child prodegy and his nanny. The music is beautiful beyond description, and it sets the scene for the beautiful relationship between Reggie and Eleanor, his Nanny. The part that leaves me sobbing, is the last scene, with Eleanor playing the Coronet accompaniment, of the song, that Reggie wrote, standing on the porch of her home, while Reggie plays the Cello in the bottom of the swimming pool. A wonderful, wonderful, beautifully directed film that every should see. I took up the Violin and piano after seeing this film.

I wish someone was here. April, 2023. I just watched this movie and can't get it and the music out of my head. What a sweet surprise to pick this from the Tubi listings. I sort of knew the little boy, Reggie, would give his nanny a clarinet at the end. He was so very mature for his age but learned to love someone who took the time to get to know him. Great casting.

The harmony of this song is beyond anything I've ever listened to. Its so haunting and so emotional at the same time. There has only been a few songs in my lifetime that has penetrated to my soul such as this. When I play it, it conjours up so many raw emotions that there are no words to describe it. I feel like i can't breathe when I listen to the notes and instruments playing together in such harmony. It is one of the most soul etching songs I have ever listened to!

Wow I get so emotional everytime I listen to this track. I've listened to many musical scores from movies from Anna Karenina to The Theory of Everything but this movie's musical score is by far the most beautiful one I have ever listened to. It holds so much emotion in each note that is played and I cannot stop listening to it. This movie was just so meaningful and touching which completely goes along with the musical score. Absolutely amazing.

THIS song I could listen to every moment of ever day and always will find something I like about it more than before. The way this music touches me, I feel every note in every cell of my being. From laughter to tears, I'm taken to places I've never seen and places I'm so too familiar with. The chords of this string instrument ebbing, flowing, swells my heart. If I could go through life floating on one song this would be the song. I'm so touched by this composition. Hope, sorrow, happiness, regret, gratitude, infinity. 💞🌺🥀

Leonard Bernstein said, "Music can name the unnamable and communicate the unknowable". By reading the comments below it is easy to understand, the "Like Sunday, Like Rain" theme song does just that. All great movies, campaigns, organizations, etc. achieve great success through imagery and trustable content only when they make an emotional connection; the comments are proof the movie deeply and emotionally touched us from the words crafted, the choice of actors, and the incredible direction of a 12 year old boy who genius makes him wiser beyond his years. But just as Vangelis' music in Chariots of Fire made the movie (according to David Putnam) so has the beauty of the heart wrenching music in Like Fire, Like Rain, communicated the unknowable feelings I so often hide and, for me, an emotional connection I will not forget.

This music makes me cry. It's nice to see a movie that involves a son from a wealthy family who is not despicable. I went to high school with many like Reggie. My family was very middle class, but because they re-drew the boundary of the attendance district of my high school, I was included in the attendance zone that had the highest per-capita personal and income tax families in the state. Many of the folks I went to school with chose our school over preparatory and other such schools. It's a fabulous movie, and I intended to watch several times.

Profoundly sweet film. I heard the director took forever to cast the role of Reggie. And he was lucky enough to find this beautiful child actor. Julian Shatkin has a bright future indeed.
