'Like teenagers': Shock Prince Harry and Meghan Markle revelations in Valentine Low's Courtiers book. One of the Queen’s favourite aides told colleagues compared working with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to working with teenagers, according to Valentine Low, the author of 'Courtiers', a bombshell new royal book. Valentine Low, the author of Courtiers, has told a special episode of Palace Confidential about the ‘harsh’ treatment that Samantha Cohen received while working for the pair before they left the Royal Family. ‘When she started, Harry knew her well, and liked her and she liked Harry. Sam is an incredible problem solver, she’s a can-do personality and she just found it really difficult,’ he says. ‘She was asked to do things that a private secretary wouldn’t normally be asked to do and I think she was treated harshly. She was shouted at by Meghan… she was said to have said that dealing with them was like dealing with a couple of teenagers.’ Low also describes the ‘crushing’ phrase that Meghan Markle used to one of her team and he goes into detail into what he believes really happened during Meghan Markle Tiaragate saga during the Royal wedding.

Although I was disappointed when Harry and Meghan decided to leave the Royal Family, I could understand their wanting to go in another direction. Where they totally lost me is when they began to trash the Royal Family, her family, showed that they are hypocrites, etc. The more I learn about her and about Harry, the more I realize what a great job the Royal Family did hiding their terrible personalities. I realize there are days when the Royals would probably like to just stay home, but for an extrovert who loves meeting people, I think they have the best job in the world and the financial security most people can only dream about.

I know a few of the staff at the palace and one of them I know joined the staff at age 17, working day and night when required, he eventually retired at age 66. He didn't want to retire but was advised to by the Queen as his health was deteriorating. He reluctantly retired and stayed on, paying rent at his flat within the staff quarters and stayed on standby for another 5 years. So if one person can give their whole life to work with the royals, it begs the question of what on earth is going on with the harkles and their turnover of staff.

There a couple of points where I disagree with Mr. Low though I will be buying his book. 1. That MEgain did him (Harry) the greatest kindness... - Uh no, she stalked him, learned more about his weaknesses, fed his paranoia and ego, and made him a worse person than he already was by betraying the family like Judas and telling lies for 30 pieces of silver. If he became a better person, that would be a kindness... 2. King Charles and Prince William hiring a female or minority Private Secretary.... Please stop this affirmative action nonsense! Personally I like to be hired and promoted because I was best qualified, most trustworthy, and best fit for the job and not because I was the token woman or minority. I'd be insulted if I was hired on the basis of my gender or my skin color.

The point of the comments about who was hired is that all of those hired for those jobs were white and male which means that part of the job was being white ad male. Which argues against being the best qualified for the job.

Markle won't let Harry get any lime light AND it was all extensive paid the to the charity it was said Megan even got a taxi to soho house in Amsterdam from the Hague and charged it to the charity they stayed at the most expensive hotel, its been alledged by the time all the expenses were put in by the markles the charity didn't make any money and that's why the British legion has been said are taking over the running of the invictus games

The Invictus Games weren't Harry's idea. He was invited to participate with a group of people forming games for disabled vets based on America's Wounded Warrior Games. Harry did NOT think up the Invictus Games on any level.

Completely agree with you! If either PH or MM had two neurons firing in their heads they would have looked deeply and discussed what joining the BRF was going to entail and what the expectations would be for MM. They did not do that. PH probably sugarcoated his explanation of what life would be like just to keep MM. MM probably thought she would bend the BRF to her will. Both completely delusional. If they actually did a deep dive into their situation before they got engaged, they probably would not have done it. MM, of course, lied her way into the BRF about what she intended to do. The rest is history.

It’s too bad that somebody didn’t point out to Harry, the examples of his aunt the Princess Royal, who is the hardest working royal among all the family, and yet she’s not in line to the throne. Or Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex, he and his wife Sophie have both worked very hard and they’re not in line to the throne. And Prince Philip, he was never in line to the throne, and yet look how relevant and active his life was while supporting his wife the Queen. Either Harry ignored these examples, or nobody pointed them out, and he was too shallow to think about all this and realize he could’ve had a big impact in his life even if he was further down the line of succession.

From USA. One of the courtiers said they were like dealing with "a couple of teenagers." Harry's behavior always came off as immature teenaged behavior. Meghan always made me think she might be one of those women who would always be age 15. I feel validated! Seriously, I really wish M had never shown up. She in NO WAY represents the majority of American women. To me she's an embarrassment. The interview was very informative. I'm enjoying the book. Likening the Harkles to teenagers is disingenuous. They are unbalanced people. They lie, they scheme, they plot and they act like they have done nothing wrong to anyone! A person who pushes out a dozen puff pieces a day about herself is unbalanced. And his acting like he doesn't see it means there's something wrong with him, too.

I agree they are unbalanced but to many much of their behavior seems adolescent, so I have sometimes used the term “behaving like teenagers” for some of what they do - excessive handholding while making official visits, demanding things from the family, expecting the RF to bend to what she wants rather than negotiating or understanding why things are done a certain way. She had the option not to join the family, but chose to and then acts like a child because their whole world didn’t shift to what she wanted.

Go back and watch the engagement interview where Harry talks about working together with the RF as a married couple....observe MEagain's reaction. Imo, she NEVER planned to join the RF as a working cog of the whole. She lies as easily as she breathes; nothing she says can be taken at face value. Our issue as Americans is seeing how vile Harry treated his family, especially his aging grandparents while they were literally on their deathbeds, and his never taking a public stance against MEagain as she did the same to them.

Should the Palace bend backwards because a D class actress wasn't happy with what she got, or should she conform and adapt to the institution she was very lucky to subscribe to by marrying Harry? They live near Hollywood, surrounded by famous, wealthy celebrities and entertainers. And that's a totally different world than the rest of America, where real, honest, hard-working, common folks live, who are teachers, plumbers, paramedics, social workers, nurses, etc. and who quietly volunteer in their local communities. But we all know, celebrities come and celebrities go. . . How long Harry and Meghan will last as celebrities? And especially as a celebrity couple. It's anyone's guess. But many celebrities do have shelf life.

@@zhmw They went from being royals to being reality-type celebs. In that Netflix reality show they put on, there's a clip I saw that has Harry at a window talking about helicopters overhead and trying to say that it's all about him and his wife. They live in a neighborhood where most are richer and more famous than them. Also, papparazzi would use drones if they were interested. The only time that helicopters would be allowed to fly over residential areas is if there's an emergency of some sort.

If Harry was indeed so worried about his relevance, does that mean he is just much of a narcissist as his wife? Also, Meghan should not expect special treatment, she is marrying into that family, meaning it's permanent (unless they divorce), she is not a visitor that would only stay for a while, therefore, needs extra special treatment, she was suppose to adapt to that family's traditions and ways, she wanted to be part of it, she needs to play her part.

She has bullied her way to the top and she thought she could climbing the ladder to the top in the Royal family but she found out there was no ladders in the Royal family it’s a pecking order and she was only married to Harry , she thought she could overtake Kate which of course she could not , She was very jealous of Kate and thought she should be treated the same as Kate , but Kate is married to The next king and she is mother to a future king , and Kate was willing to work hard to support her husband Prince William and of course she’s a wonderful mother to her children , after King Charles Prince William and his wife Kate are top dogs she’s soon realise that she could never catch up to Kate and she could earn more money off of Harry being Diana’s son in America, which they have done but she did make a big mistake going on Oprah Winfrey and pulling out the race card she did not do her homework because the Queen was loved all over the world and it backfired on them big time, once people in this country really loved Harry but now they treat him as a traitor which he is he turned his back on is Queen family and country, And he is just as bad as it is crazy wife , Now he has hurt his family so much there is no way back for him and he as only got his self to blame , they are both so jealous of the royal family because they could not hit the top they are determined to bring the royal family down, He is now a traitor prince and has hooked his self to a crazy woman , No one is going to forgive him for the stress he caused the Queen when her beloved husband was in the hospital The Queen went downhill very quickly having to put up with Harrys hurtful remarks and lies , he didn’t care a damn about her well-being it’s all about Meg’s well-being, well he’s made his bed I hope he can lie in it, King Charles should start off as a strong king and take away their titles and everything else that belongs to the royal family it will very hard for him to do because Harry is his son and he has always spoilt him but he has to realise that the people of this country do not want them back and do not want them to have titles they don’t want to be in the Royal family , King Charles ought to know that we do not want them in the royal family now they have done too much damage and they cannot be trusted ever again.

Well-done interview with the very articulate Mr. Low. I take exception to two points, however. First, Harry did not invent the Invictus Games. They are a copy of the U.S. Warrior Games. Michelle Obama and Jill Biden took him to the WGs, and then I think the palace staff did all the real work to create Invictus. Now Harry is attempting to use Invictus to make money for himself, which is reprehensible. Second, I don't think Meghan ever intended to be a working royal. In my opinion, it was always her goal to return to Hollywood, where she imagined she would be an in-demand star who could kick dirt in the faces of everyone who failed to cast her over the previous 20 years.

Whether people want to admit it or not, men and women are different. It’s no big deal for men to have male secretaries. In fact it’s probably better, especially to avoid any appearance of impropriety, and men need other men to trust and interact with. And as for the minority thing, as a minority in the US, they’d better NOT hire based on skin color, whether lighter or darker. The second people start getting hired based on skin color (again whether lighter or darker) the best candidates will never get hired or may not be even seen. Just tossing out “oh hey no minorities” without seeing what the applicant pool or any data is ridiculous id like to know if there are there plenty of minority men in Britain who are in secretary positions willing to be staff??

It seems that Harry and Meghan quite readily conflate 'The Institution' with 'The Family'. A smart move for this couple would have been to 'query' the institution but remain unwaveringly loyal to the family. Meghan's greed was too hasty. Had she the foresight for The Long Game, she might have played her hand differently. Her desperate, galloping approach would have repulsed even the most ardent supporter (as it has done). She's revealed quite clearly that she's not the constitution for royalty, but rather for celebrity; a state for which Harry has no birthright (which ultimately makes him of no value to her).

I don’t think Meghan had the patience for the Long Game. She saw or thought she saw, a quick intro into a world of wealth, privilege and adulation just by putting a ring on her finger. She wanted celebrity status and confused it thinking that was Royalty. I don’t think it entered her head that she would be starting at the bottom and have to work to earn her stripes. Harry sounds like he had been sheltered and not have to think of how his life ran smoothly with a plethora of staff to see to it. Neither two were grounded so a recipe for disaster.

Why in the world would he say Meghan showed him the greatest kindness? She’s shown him the way to lose his family and ruin his life. He’s complicit but I’m not sure he would have done all his dirty deeds without her, kindness? I don’t think so. This author says some off the wall comments.

I guess the book’s main focus wasn’t H&M but was about helping people understand The Firm…. The institution and then that would give people an insight into why H&M cannot just walk into the queen’s room to talk to her… silly example but you get what I mean. Tom Bower on the other hand, was directly about H&M.

The institution is no longer cold and unfeeling . It is a thriving institution. Meghan is a cold unfeeling woman .....see how she treated her father, her family, her staff HMTQ and Prince Philip, her in-laws etc ....

Most believe that MM had an agenda to leave asap before they even married. She planned to return to LA with a title, a royal husband, and an expectation that "Hollywood celebs" would throw their doors open to them and that she would be in demand for the film makers in a ways she had never been able to previously! There was a reason for her inviting all those unknown to her but well known celebs, to that wedding ! She also had NO idea of what royal life was about. She objected to "public duties" complaining once that she was "not getting paid for this"! She refused to accept hierarchy, pushing Harry to demand status equality with William, who as the heir was obvious at the top, while H even then was 6 down the line! She even got him, allegedly, to ask HM the Queen if when Williams time came, that he and Harry should share equally the job of being King! Can you believe it ! This of course, would have made her a joint Queen with Catherine ! Her total ignorance and sheer cheek is mind boggling !
