I personally don't think we have a super hero fatigue problem. It's a wokeness and crappy entertainment fatigue problem. This is what happens when your only qualifications for hiring people are based on diversity, equity and inclusion. I don't care who you are or what you look like. If you are not qualified for a job, you shouldn't get it. These companies hire people who aren't qualified to produce quality entertainment and then have the audacity to blame the audience when it inevitably fails. That would be like me opening a new restaurant and hiring someone with zero cooking experience to be the chef. Then I would proceed to blame and belittle my customers for not liking the food that would obviously suck. Seriously, the absolute lack of personal and professional accountability in today's society is ridiculous. If you make quality entertainment, word will spread, people will watch it and it will make money. Amazing how that works. I would also argue that for most people who the director is of a movie or show has very little influence on our desire to see said content. I personally have never watched something because of who directed it. I have also never not watched something just because of the director. Most of the time I don't even know who the director is. People need to grow up and accept responsibility for their own failures.

For me, it’s always been about the lack of respect. In EMH, their version of Carol was a character built around respect. She had respect for the law, stating that “without laws we have nothing”, she showed respect and reverence for her fellow Avengers as she first met them and knew them as Carol first. And finally while she was at odds with the Krree, she took the name Ms. Marvel for her respect for Mar-Vell who not only gave her the powers but a Kree soldier who gave up everything and eventually his own life to protect Earth knowing doing so might eventually lead to the fall of the Kree. Yet respect is something the MCU character never shows, and without it she’s shallow and petty. She doesn’t respect the law, robbing and hurting a guy at the beginning of her movie because he dared speak to her? She never respects any of the Avengers, even though they were there and she wasn’t, and Mar-Vell is just bypassed immediately on her road to becoming a “her o” , she doesn’t wear his name out of respect but out of revenge for something she feels slighted about and despite all the people it might hurt, she goes back to Halla to get all the revenge she can get. And despite all of this, they give her a “fan girl”, someone created just to tell Carol how amazing and great she is, despite never being there, all the people she has hurt and the constant contempt she has for everyone and everything around her. This was not a hero, this was a villain and a villain that is never beaten is the easiest way to get rid of your audience because it frustrates them and they get no enjoyment from the story.

I love and respect your videos. You are a branch of authentic females who have a much more nuanced and respectable perspective of males and gender

Okay. Marvels bombed at the box office. So, who was this movie for? Specifically what demographic and what gender was this movie for? Did THAT demographic go and buy tickets to see that film? Did that demographic even turn out to be the number one demographic that DID go see the film? Is there evidence that THAT demographic WANTS to see the film? What demographic, including gender, does go out to see marvel films, when the films are made for THEM? Why NOT make marvel movies for the people that will buy tickets to see those films? If women WANT to see something, they will buy tickets/make time to see that thing. Taylor Swift and Beyoncé sell more tickets than ANYBODY EVER. They break streaming records regularly. The Kardashians have a dynasty, some Kardashians have THEIR OWN dynasty. The Jenner girl and Rihanna have made hundreds of millions of dollars selling branded and marked up beauty products. If women WANT to see something or have something, there is no shortage of women with the money and ability to get/see those things. If you make something hoping to draw women into your sales funnel and women DON’T make you break sales records, it is because they don’t want what you are selling. Misogyny CANNOT explain your failure. The WNBA loses $10 million dollars per year. The Marvels has lost tens of millions of dollars. This is evidence that WOMEN DON’T WANT THESE PRODUCTS. These things were created for women. If women don’t want these things, why should men? It is genuinely ludicrous to blame misogyny for any of these things.

I love women so much, that I don't want to pullute the sanctity of female led Marvel movies with my male presence.

OMG my eyes have opened!!! I have been sexist all this time... It has nothing to do with a lot of things in life being more expensive or working 6 days a week. I was a sexist bigot and didn't wanna see female lead movies. Thank you, guy I have never heard of. I will immediately rush to the cinema.

Peggy Marshall directed A League of Their Own in 1992, about women's baseball, starring women, with the main focus on the women...and Tom Hanks. It was a financial and critical success. She also directed Tom Hanks' 1988 hit Big. People don't care who did what, they care about a movie being good quality. That is what makes films endearing to people.

Wait, why don't people like Shang-Chi? One of the few bright spots of the phase...
@arnislumpia37667 ай бұрын
Shang-Chi was good, and the strong post covid box office somehow reflected how much people like Kung Fu movies. I liked Marvel's also, it's just bad timing after the SAG strike.

Two words:Kill Bill. Every motivation and bit of action was carried by diverse women and a woman also co-wrote it. The only males in the film don’t appear in the first movie at all and then one gets a 10 minute scene showing how shitty his life is and dies without a fight while a half-blind woman mocks him. And the titular male gets ten minutes at the very end to talk about comic books (and be a condescending asshole) and is then killed in a 50-second fight scene that takes place while he’s seated in a chair at a table. And Kill Bill kicks ass even after a dozen viewings. Men don’t want strong diverse females to lead an action film? Kiss my ass. Kill Bill made made a freaking fortune- and it deserved to do so.

My brother is a retired real estate broker with many years of experience in the industry. And he told me the secret to figuring out how you tell how much a property is worth. It's the amount someone paid for it when it sold. Anything else is just someone's opinion. Well, I think maybe you see where I'm going with this. An actor can have an opinion of a film. I can have my opinion of a film. But at the end of the day, the bottom line is the bottom line.

Loki S01, Antman and Wasp: Quantamania, the Hawkeye series, Dr. Strange MOM, all were heavily criticized by the media and the fans too. People act as if only women are the targets of bad reviews. I think its the victim complex surrounding women entering male spaces that brings out the defensive reactions of advocates.
