It will be much better if you explain more deeply "what MEAN and Standard Deviation stand for; and how they are applied in research both academic and non-academic (project)? Thanks for watching the video. Likert scale questionnaire is structured and cannot allow respondents the opportunity to express themselves beyond the structured questionnaire. Therefore, it cannot be used for qualitative research. Qualitative research makes use of semi-structured questionnaire where the respondents have the freedom to express themselves. Hope this helps.

I just found the answer (64 * 5) + (61 * 4) + (13 * 3) + (6 * 2) + (16 * 1) = 320 + 244 + 39 + 12 + 16 = 631 Mean = 631 / 160 Mean = 3.944 It is good to explain every step especially because of people that does not want to over-rely on the software

thank you so much Dr Okolie for this great video. plz I have some questions : your decision to classify the item to low or high perception based on the mean scores of the item itself without taking in consideration the distribution of reponses on the 5-categories (SA,A,UN,D,SD). the third item classified "low perception" and you wrote in the conclusion that "majority of participants had low perception " whereas 68.2% of them answered (SA+A) and 23.8% answered D+SD. how can interpret this contradiction? . @@Dr.Okolie lets say i am measuring the challenges and barriers that students face at schools with less infrastrcture. each question has fewer options not likely likert. but subjective.... how do we analize such questionnaires? ex what is the challenge you face moving in the corridors and the options are less lighting, space issues, flooring etc. (hope i made my point clear to you)

Doctor , my research is descriptive survey and my big ask is how can I analyze my five point agree disagree scale for each of my themes. Just to make it clear, my studying is investigating the teaching techniques, Feedback Provision, and error correction of teachers while teaching speaking skill. Then my questionnaire has 8 questions for teaching techniques, 6 for for feedback provision strategies, and 6 for error correction strategies which adds up to 20 questions. After I put my data in an SPSS and move on to analyzing my data , I cannot bring those 8 questions for teaching techniques, 6 for feedback, 6 for error correction and analyze them separately. Please suggest me the easiest way to do that or share a link if you have done made a video about this. I am a big big beginner, know nothing about SPSS except watching some You tube videos made by some good Samaritans like you. Thank you once again.

Thanks very much for this helpful video. Sir, so during interpretation of results, you dont talk of agree or strongly agree again? Permit me ask my question. I was to find out if Monitoring contribute to project success. And I made questionairs for project managers with different items. With each to check on either agree, strongly agree, disagree and strongly disagree. So at the end if the results show high perception as per the weighted mean. Professor i have a question not on the likert scale .. i have formulated a question with choice Yes or No as answers. On the next question, i said if answer is Yes etcc please specify in your own words. How do i code this type of question please.
