Dope! My favorite part of the music video (a lil biased cuz I filmed it) is how they did that "match cut" effect to make the scene more chaotic. The moment in the video where the police are shoving a guy, the screen dips to black for a split second and then the camera lands on the ground seamlessly to create a "chaotic" look. In reality, those two moments were filmed minutes apart and not as seamless as it appears. That was really creative editing on their part taking two pieces of footage that play well and stitching them together to create an atmosphere. I was very surprised to see them come up with that when the video premiered. I have vlog footage of the music video shoot if anybody wants to see more in depth BTS of the iconic video!

A cool thing to do in the first effect instead of scaling would be to add motion tile and repeat edges. Set the amount enough to cover the canvas when the clip is vertical. Then add a CC Lens effect on top of it and reduce it the faster the rotation gets (adjust motion tile - repeat edges as necessary). Maybe around 150-200. When the transition/rotation is complete, set CC Lens back to 500. Perhaps some Chromatic Aberration as well. Completely different look, but you avoid scaling past 110% which you really shouldn't do when working on a native comp (e.g. 4k footage on a 4k comp). On this particular example, the quality loss might not be as visible, since everything goes pretty fast plus there's motion blur.
