I’ve seen a few people saying that Uzi should have dropped the more classic Uzi songs as one side and then the experimental songs as another side. But why do you feel like you get to control their creative direction? That takes out all the excitement and unpredictability of this project, which is one of the main reasons why I enjoyed it so much on the first listen. And second of all, this project is literally called Pink Tape, which implies that the album is more of a compilation of songs rather than a focused idea or a particular message. And regardless, who really cares? Just take the songs you like and move on, I don’t get why you’re expecting a trap artist to be so intricate and detailed with their track listing lol
@krakenandtheratmovies78111 ай бұрын
@@LegendaryMamba24Because of the hype surrounding Uzi. If he's going to be experimental go all out with it like Yachty or Carti did. If he's going to be conceptual and atmospheric go all out like Travis or Rocky does. If he's going to give us straight bangers go all out like Future or Thugger does. Instead we get this mess that is all over the place, and not in a Life of Pablo kind of way where that's obviously the point. Uzi is clearly not the kind of artist that can make a 26 song album he doesnt have the depth for it.

As a retired emo kid, I will fill you in on BMTH…they were originally a deathcore band from the UK, and they’ve been around since MySpace. Their first ep was probably the most hardcore project they put out, suicide season was a more refined version of their first ep, their second album was poorly received, felt like it was the transition album to their 3rd, and by far, best album, sempiternal. That’s where all their tiktok songs came from. Now I ain’t heard them in 10 years, and the fact Uzi knows about them really shows how popular they’ve become. I mean, maybe Uzi knew about them since back then, cause he’s closer to my age, but they were no where near as popular as they are now, and after hearing their newest music, it’s no where near their first works, BUT, this song, “werewolf” was a great song as an introduction for new listeners that have never heard of them. I’m happy to see these new artists like Uzi or Lone show the younger generation another amazing genre, rock n roll baby.

I feel like in music atm, a lot of artists are in this grey area of genre crossing. No one seems to be able to do it perfectly* or at least enjoyable for a full length EP... Think they are afraid to alienate their fan base by going too far off the deep end, so their presence seems stagnate over some of the more forward in-to-the genre production that a lot of these albums are going for. I look at it as a learning curve for artists in the entirety... and the reason the albums be so long is they dont know whats gonna work... Yachty has the best effort so far and i truly think its because of his personality and just being able to let go.. figure if this Rock infatuation keeps going maybe in a few years someone will have had the time to craft a really rock/rap infusion.

Yeah you'd be amazed at how unbelievably anal metalheads can be over bands like Bring Me The Horizon and BABYMETAL. But over time I think that they've warmed up to them to where now they're pretty much one of the flagship bands for metal. However, I do not think Uzi is a talented enough artist to where he can flesh out those ideas, to the point where it just feels like that whole "rocker" aesthetic that Uzi sports was never meant to be anything more than just that. And that's not to say that he can't express his love for rock in his own unique way, but I just don't think he did enough. The metal cuts feel like he just got official songs from both bands and put them on his album without much contribution. That and that Chop Suey! cover was absolute doo doo water. This album felt like a bunch of pretty cool ideas that Uzi didn't flesh out.

I mostly agree with you. The album was too long and experimental for how little Uzi really brings. He needs to do more and higher quality on his part to make an album like this shine. I really want uzi to do well, but I haven't seen his writing or performance shine in 3 years. I like 3 of the tracks a lot, but the rest feel incomplete imho. (Intro, patience and Zoom)
