If you was not around for that tape idk what to tell you. It’s not the same going back to listen to it because it’s history. When it was happenin it was so inspiring to see lil wayne style change on the tape to who he is today. You can hear him tearing the paper as he finish each verse. Then he never writes ever again. Between 2005 and 2011 I had a different Lil Wayne mixtape in my stereo system damn near every week! They always had a new CD at the lil hood gas stations everytime I visit or filled up.

I remember being 11/12 listening to squad up in my CD player I remember being amazed at how wayne could spit it’s kinda like Kobe in 06 taking ova the lakers without Shaq and that squad he had Wayne’s career to me is similar to Kobe’s when he held down cash money after the hotboys split if you don’t know about them squad up tapes you not a real Wayne fan that was vintage Wayne in the gym perfecting his game(Bars) before he finally figured it all out Jay z was like Jordan to wayne he was coming for em on them mixtapes

I'm was a big Lil Wayne fan from 98' - 14 but that 02- 04 squad up Wayne was dangerous! Since 14' til now he kinda sounds like the mumble rappers & his topics are eating ***** and rapping in the cadence mumble rappers do & I can't follow that anymore. I was born in 82' also and he knows this era of rap ain't it but he kinda help create it but it's not for me. He doesn't sound like that on AZ new album he had to rap foreal on their & hopefully he comes back to that rap style 🤷‍♂️

They didn’t leave New Orleans East until 2005 after Katrina because I used to see Wayne everyday in the mall. In 2005 Wayne was 23. Squad Up was around 2001-2004. I remember all of this. Squad Up signed with Lil Flip around 2004. They made a diss track at Wayne. B.G. diss Squad Up.

I'm in Miami, from Miami. Not Miami Beach either, City of Miami cross that Bridge. Overtown. Wayne came outchea to visit around 04. Then after Katrina hit him and Baby was always outchea. They was in Lil Haiti and Opa Locka (a small city that live just like we do) a lot. Brisco taught em the ropes of way to go n who to fuck wit. Then they both moved cross the bridge to Miami Beach. That had to be late 05/early 06. That's when all dem song with khaled start droppin. N all them videos they shot was Overtown my hood.
