Lil Woody Becomes Infuriated, Fires His Attorney During Testimony in Young Thug Trial

Tuesday was the 89th day of the Young Thug trial, where Lil Woody, real name Kenneth Copeland, continued to take the stand. Copeland began his testimony by discussing his relationship with the defendant, Young Thug, real name Jeffery Williams. However, tensions rose in the courtroom, leading to Copeland firing his attorney on the spot.

Young Thug faces nearly a dozen charges, including possession of drugs and weapons, participation in criminal street gang activity, and conspiracy to violate Georgia’s RICO Act. The rapper was arrested in May of 2022 along with 27 other alleged gang members. Many of those defendants have taken plea deals in the case.

Ultimately it is the jury who will decide what part of his testimony is lies or truth. Jury members may decide that each "I don't recall" is a lie and use that in judging other testimony or they may decide he is being truthful. Just a a matter of procedure, the prosecution MUST ask the questions in order for the jury to hear the testimony. They can't just read the transcripts of his prior police interviews to the jury. Additionally, the prosector does not know how he will answer to any particular question. No lawyer just gives up because a witness is difficult.

They keep running the same playbook, and when they review the case they will find that the defense is working extra hard to make this trial as costly as possible. Why is this even continuing. The key witness, the judge and the prosecutors are making a joke of the legal system. This is exactly why I have no faith in the system anymore. Dude up here acting like a 1 year old. Throw him in jail along with that whole corrupt court house.
