Lil Yachty - "Never Switch Up" (Official Video): Noisey Raps

Atlanta's newest rising star, Lil Yachty, is working his way to being the definitive voice of rap's newest generation. Since the year started, he's released two mixtapes including his breakout 'Lil Boat,' became one of the stars at Kanye West's Yeezy Season 3 and made an appearance on Chance The Rapper's 'Coloring Book' album.
In this episode of Noisey Raps, we premiere a video for Yachty's song "Never Switch Up" and follow him to his back-to-back sold out shows at Santa Ana's The Observatory. Joined by members of his Sailing Team crew like producer Burberry Perry and rapper K$upreme, Yachty counts cash, looks for his grill before hitting the stage, and explains why crowdsurfing is like going into a furniture store.

He's not talented at the art of being a lyricist but he sure is talented at being a creative rapper and thats why he gets noticed the most ,over generations there has been no one doing things differently in rap music until Lil Yacthy.Lets be honest doesn't he seem to differ a whole lot from the generic rappers that people also listen to such as J.Cole,Kendrick Lamar,ASAP Mob,Big Sean,Tyga,and Drake. It is what it is. A lot of these newer guys admit they aren't even rappers, and that they can't freestyle or rap over random beats. They see themselves as entertainers, which is great and I support that, so long as everyone else catches up and realizes this isn't music, or artistry.
