❥personal note:
I'm just going to say this right off the bat, this is pairing is very unpopular, so if anyone leaves a negative comment, I will delete it. SPOILER ALERT!!!!
The relationship between these two characters is abusive (on his part) and by romanticizing it, it leads others to assume that it's a positive ship.
Well, it's not.
I only made this video because the actors who portrayed their characters made me think otherwise. You can say what you want, just stating my opinion, but they're really close and good friends.
Marcello's character is one of the worst characters in the series/books. Not the worst, but one of the worst ones.
Lila despises him to the point that he makes her hate him before they've even spoken or had any sort of interaction with one another.
However this song, kind of makes me think of Marcello's feelings for Lila. He truly was in love with her, but his advances and personality made Lila detest him before she even met him.
There's a verse in the song that goes "be still my foolish heart, don't ruin this on me," which automatically made me think of Marcello. He fell head over heels for her after she put a knife to his neck, and because of his foolish advances and trying to win her heart over by buying things for her, he ruined his chances. (There are also other major reasons why she would have never liked him...but I'll let you the newcomers to watch the show if you're interested, I don't want to ruin it for you.)

❥onto a much more personal note: since the quarantine started a few months ago and I finished up my spring semester, I've had a lot of time for tv and editing, so I got inspired and made this. I think it took me a good three weeks to edit, as well as look for clips.

Just finished book 3. And all I can say is it doesn't much matter who Marcello gets with now, Lila will always be the first woman he really wanted, and she rejected him and from his perspective humiliated him, so no matter what happens in the future she'll always have some presence in his mind, whether it's love, hate or lust he'll always have some sort of strong feelings for her, and there'll always by some tiny amount of regret in him that he never got her like he wanted to even if he continues to be a presence in her life and manages to make her miserable.

@Andres Bonilla There's two more books, we'll see more of him later on as well as Michele - though as everyone will be getting older it also means they'll be with different actors eventually. Otherwise I'm not saying anything else.

I have seen a few edits of Lila and Marcello, and I have to say this was the best one (in my opinion) . I love the song choice and the way you edit. Amazing

It's such a masterpiece! When I watched the series I wished they will be together. And thank you for the song choice - I just discovered it through this video and now keep listening it over and over again ☺️

First of all-- thank you for your sweet comment. And I agree with you, the song is so good, and addicting, even till now, it's still one of my favorites. The issue with Lila and Marcello, is that their relationship would make a great manga story, something about their chemistry, whether its in the books or in the series, it's different, at least to me.

For some reason I shipped Lenu with Marcello. It's weird. Like all the guys that went after Lila... for some reason I just believe that Lenu fits with them more than the guys that are after her. It's kind of funny. Lila gets all the hot and possessive guys that also have a certain amount of wealth while Lenu gets a wide range of different men in her life.

at first so did I! I was like finally a guy for Lenu, a good looking guy whose got money, and then his attention deferred to Lila. But after rewatching the show, I sorta got it. I felt like it Marcello liking Lila, did irk Lenu at first, she was expected almost any guy who got close to her to go for her. But then they made a whole UTURN and went straight for Lila.

I actually thought that to myself too seeing how later on her husband began cheating on her when he no longer wanted her, she had Marcelo wrapped around her little finger. Of course there might have been instances where Marcello might have gotten violent but I doubt he would ever hurt her really badly, he was in love with her too much and saw her as a goddess, bought her anything she wanted, and even gave her free pastries after she married someone else.

Although I don’t like his brother Michele but I think marcelo was better than all of them like he never harm anybody and was always quiet minding his own business while Marcelo was threatening her and Stefano was treating her like shit and always talking to her like he buys her because her poor family

I feel if she would’ve given Morcello a chance and gotten to know him and married him she definitely would’ve had a better life. He loved her so much, I feel like he wouldn’t hurt her like Stefano.
